2 semesters of the following are required by most US/European Med schools prior to acceptance.

General chem, organic chem, physics, biology, and usually calc or pre-calc(these are pre-reqs for physics).

You can always finish your degree then take those pre-reqs. Many colleges have special post-bacc programs just for that purpose. That may benefit you more as you can then focus on those courses alone. They are a challenge!

I don't know too much about IT courses. I would take the one that you feel most comfortable with. I only say that because you're gonna have your hands full with organic chemistry, calc, and physics. Those are the so called "weed out" courses and those profs tend to be most unforgiving. You'll see. Or you could just wait until you've finished your degree to take the pre med pre reqs. One othere thing... don't worry if it takes you longer to get where you want to be. I've been through 3 majors(most of my 20's), before I decided on medicine. By the time I finish what I've begun, I may be knockin on 40. You have plenty of time to figure it all out!

Yes it would be a great advantage to you. Med schools like to have a good cross section of interests to give more variety to the student body. It's also a good idea to have(as my name suggests) a fallback plan, just in case you change your mind or don't get in on your first try. And don't forget that most major hospitals also depend on electronic charting. A degree in IT will be a very useful body of info to bring with you in your medical career.

My advice to you is to go into computers and finish the degree. After that you can try a post-bacc pre-med program then take the MCAT. I went to an international medical school, but it wasn't very competative and eliminated my chances of getting the residency I wanted. I'm basically starting from scratch all over again while I attemp a transfer to a US program. Also, I know you have some med experience. That's great! But you can never have enough. I was an ER tech, then graduated from an RN program. It definately helps. Just remember to study what you like! Med schools don't care what you major in, as long as you demonstrate a willingness to follow through at your highest potential. I hope that helps! Good luck!!!

The Presedent and Congress have the final say. The military doesn't want it because conscription lowers general moral...that didn't stop the Vietnam draft.

We don't have a draft in place. Both the military and public don't want it, but there is a war going on and troops are always in demand. At 30 I'm too old for a general draft, but I am a medical professional and there is a clause that states I could be called up to age 45 if there was a national emergency. I hate the idea of war(espescially this one), but I'd go. It's part of why I chose my current profession. What's your stance on this issue?

Greenprince, I think you're talking more about personality differences. Please elaborate if I missunderstood.
