@groowagon: I get what you are saying but i think certain hardware and the need of it applies to gaming more than others, and GS have from time to time but not often posted about enterprise level tech before, usually when its applicable at least in the future to gaming.

Quadro gpus and Xeon cpus will never be needed for gaming and have their equivalant cousins in that market anyway.

Storage devices on the other hand benefit everyone across the board and these drives will eventually come to the consumer market unlike Quadros and Xeons, and this advanced tech will drive down the price of current Pcie Nand drives and M.2 ssd's just like M.2 drives did with Sata ssd's and Sata ssd's did with mechanical Sata Hdd's

Gamers will never need Quadros or Xeons as there is always the consumer product that offers the same performance for much less cost for the task they need, but we will eventually need super fast harddrives , i have been using Sata ssd's for years and i'm already at a point where i'm looking to move up to something faster, with boot times, multitasking, rapidly increasing game sizes and more and more games requiring fast data streaming from the hdd, it for me at least is much more relevant and justify's it being talked about here :)

This $1500+ 375gb drive will eventually be an affordable consumer drive, around a point in the future when we will actually need its performance,or the size, price and performance of a drive below it,this will (on the PC side) eventually become your boot drive and standard ssd's will become the new mass storage devices with mechanical hdd's finally dying off (about time too :P) none of this can or will ever apply to Quadros and Xeons as there will never be a consumer market need for them.

The install times (and load times in some cases) on current consoles with 5400rpm laptop drives is staggeringly slow considering it's 2017 we desperatly need cheaper and much faster storage, the cost of standard ssd's are almost there but just not quite, whereas gpu's and cpu's can be had these days for next to nothing and offer fantastic performance, i personally don't think this has ever applied to storage, it's an often neglected part of a system, console or pc, so advancements like this are pretty exciting.

Sorry for the messy essay i was just typing as i thought :P

@groowagon: News on future tech that will eventually help gaming does belong here because it's interesting to see whats coming, why should the rest of us have to suffer and see the site devolve more than it already has over the years just because of some of its ignorant clueless userbase?

You dont cater to ignorance and stupidity you work against it or to reduce it

@computernoises: You should have noticed by now that many gamers are stupider than chimps, and have less reading and comprehension skills also :P

Shamefully and perfectly proven by this comment section.

@Keitha313: Because its future technology that will eventually come to the consumer market and especially as game sizes increase and data streaming becomes more important it will in the future benefit gamers

Its simply a look at whats to come which interests me and many people who use this site, gamespot is not made solely for you and every other ignorant person of your ilk.

Its usually not a good idea to start insulting people when you're the one coming across as the biggest idiot in the room.

@your_real_dad_: Was your point to prove that you are the biggest most ignorant pleb here?

If it was you excelled at it.

Your inabilty to properly read the article also works against you.

It's funny how so many of you throw out insults to other people right after proving publicly that you are one of the most ignorant idiotic people here, the lack of self awareness is palpable, and laughably hypocritical.
