And how does the community at large repay these guys? By stealing their games. We should support devs like this. We don't so we pay for dlc. When the witcher 3 is out for the next gen, we'll pay for dlc.

If you have a nice pc you'll get free dlc, but then 4 out of 5 will steal it

"[The Wii] worked, they got lucky, [but] I don't think they're getting lucky with Wii U," he said. "I don't think they suck. I just think that they really believe that, 'If we're still novel, everything we do will work"

I'm no nintendo mark by any means, but that may be the most ridiculous statement I've heard in gaming in the wake of "Bioware owes us a new ending".

He describes business in general. Its all about preparation and opportunity (ie..luck). Does any fair thinking person believe nintendo is not ready or that the opportunity for success is not there?

I don't doubt that there were concerns from devs, but the idea that the big N is living in a fantasy land is nonsense.

Give me blade, ghost rider, dr. strange, hellstorm and I will be in hog heaven. Gonna play it anyway, but the defenders would be boss.

@The_Bones @Mystic_Gohan- Its not about the 3DS. They have to price somewhere near a profit point. They are not Sony or Microsoft. Gaming is what they do. They have to make money; its why they're in business.

Anything less than 400 and they would pull a 360 and flood stores with machines. That many machines means RROD syndrome. After a year or so they will drop the price, but we're talking about initial price point.

@Mystic_Gohan- Point taken. 5 seems about right. I'm hoping for 4.

@GoingPostal13 My mistake for not being clear. I believe 400 base and 500 max. 600 to 800 and they can kick rocks.

@Arekesulive The WII U won't be priced to compete against the 360 or the PS3. The WII U is getting the jump on the next gen. Both of the those consoles will be at least $500. I would bet that 90% of the people currently buying 360's or PS3's are replacing old versions. The WII U would most likely be 50 to 100 less than the next gen consoles.

@Arekesulive I understand your premise, but its flawed. Sony is only now breaking even after several iterations of the ps3. The WII U is new tech, not old.

The ps3 is still one of the best blu-ray players on the market and its still under priced. They make money by volume. When you add a $200 HD tablet as a controller it adds at least $100 to $150 to the base price.

$400 is the base price. At $300 Nintendo would have to flood the market or charge $70-$80 per game and we both know Nintendo is too good a company for that.

Nintendo can't sell it for less than 400. To think so is completely unreasonable. They are putting out a machine that is at least as powerful as a ps3 or so they say.

Sony lost its butt on that one for five years, but its a big enough company to absorb the loss. Nintendo can't.

You can add, in the real world, $200 when you add on the sweet display controller. They will take a loss by adding it to the original package.

By any law of economics it should retail for 6-8 hundred, but some loss is factored in with consoles.

All of this speculation is a hint: save your money if you want the machine. If it cost 4 or 5 hundred; so be it. I'm putting away $50 per check so I can get one for Christmas.

If saving up or buying outright is a problem for you then you need to reassess your priorities.

I want to be hopeful, but this is not Lucasarts handing the property to another developer. Lucas is directly involved and we all know what this means. The main character, if not in fact Boba Fett, will morph from a legit rockstar style, morally flawed, and selfish criminal type to a rouge with a heart of gold.

This game will only work if they keep any and all references to the movies out or to easter eggs and casual mentions. Canonizing will kill this game due to the story restrictions. I don't mean cursing or nudity, but expanding the story to include any and all possibilities for the character.

TFU was limited due to being canon. That character had a lot of potential, but when they incorporated him in the main story he was done.

Lucasarts paints a beautiful picture. They create some of the best worlds imaginable, but they writing has been suspect. If it said in "conjunction with" bioware, cd projekt red, rockstar, bob's game writers, or the writers from yo gabba gabba I'd be happy. Lucasarts....makes me nervous.
