There are always two sides to the story, and as consumers we often look at the situation from one point of view. And that point of view is one that serves our interest as consumers. But you also have to consider that these companies are often operating in the margins. Take EA for instance, a company that everyone loves to hate on. They have been steadidly losing money for the last half decade. You hate DLC, well they consider it as a viable source of income because it can create an extra source of revenue for them, it's not being greedy, its being able to stay afloat in an industry that has become vastly expensive to operate in.

We just lost one major publisher in THQ, tens of developers have closed their doors in recent years and you don't know why these companies that are still around are streching for every dime they can get? Why do you think Activision milks their franchises so hard? Because they know COD will sell. And they need it to because they don't really have any other franchises outside of Blizzard that can produce the sort of numbers they need to do to stay in business. No we don't have to like it, but I do think that once you view things from another perspective you can see why they are doing these things. Trust me, if I were to put you into their situation, you would either do what they're doing or go under.

I laugh at this considering all of this is OPTIONAL and has been done before to boot. No one has to spend a dime outside of the price of the game itself but people will complain that there is the option to buy something extra... And no, EA aren't even close to the worst company in America.

What you don't realize is that most DLC stuff is stuff that should be in the game in the first place. They are just taking out content and label it DLC and make you pay to get it. Wake the fk up.

It would be a problem only if the stuff wasn't in the regular game, which it is. The DLC only lets you get it faster.

There is no grind, you just use your scavenger bot and he gets your resources.... This is just for lazy folks who want instant gratifacation. Played the game tons, I would know.

Why don't I believe people who say this? Oh I know because EA maybe greedy %^&$ but they're not stupid or to say the least not stupid enough to implement a system and charge 5$ when you can unlock it yourself for free with 5 mins of game play/grinding. That just doesn't make sense, than again apologetic's never make much sense.

They modeled this after FTP games, which push you to buy microtransactions because it's the only way they can make money. If you think this system will have no effect on the game or games to come you're delusional. Like I said it doesn't take a genius to see where this is headed, and their excuse for it blaming the iphone gamers is ridiculous.

It's not a matter of grinding just pacing.

The game will have a complete campaign and the DLC is weapons and armor that is included in the game. The resource pack microtransactions are completely optional and you can find the same stuff in the main game.

No you're wrong, plenty of dumb asses will buy this DLC content. And second of all it doesn't matter if its OPTIONAL or non-OPTIONAL, if you buy the game regardless you're supporting them and their ideas. As they say "vote with your wallet" and that's what I'll be doing by not buying the game.

No if you buy the DLC then you're supporting that practice. If you buy the game, guess what? You're just buying a game, not DLC, not even supporting DLC. Don't you think that if loads of people buy the game but no DLC they'll continue to support it? And if people do buy it, guess what they had a choice and DID NOT HAVE TO.

Fun shooting and more movement options are bad pros?

Gears of war comes to mind a little bit too much, I should not be worried by now though. Lets see how it pans out.

Dude trust me on this, it is in no way gears of war. Game plays exactly like 2 does.

@marq4porsche

I guess you havn't updated your sig, cause there is no way BF3 looks that good on a GTS 250.

Kendog87

Yeah its out of date. I have a 560ti now and I can run it on ultra in single player and high in multiplayer.

Loving these Aftermath maps. They look stunning and the gameplay is awesome. I also tried to finish the single player game but got stuck on "Rock and a Hard Place" because no stinger missile spawns when its supposed to. I still can't get over how awesome the lighting is in this game.

Uninstall the latest update, play it again and it's there, the latest update caused a glitch for that to happen.

Thanks for the info! I'm hesitant to do that because that is a lot to have to reinstall. But until they patch it it may be the only way... In the meantime I'll just play the multiplayer.
