I'm having a great time with this game.

I'm impressed with the graphical fidelity and the performance of the FOX engine. The game runs well on my PC and I haven't really encountered any bugs. The game is high quality.

With an XBOX360 controller the game handles great.

I got this for $4.99 on Steam, so I'm pretty happy with the cost/value ratio I've had. Now, $40 is a little harder to justify. You could sink a lot of time into the game if you go for 100% completion, but otherwise $40 is asking too much.

I disagree with Tom's take on Shovel Knight's replayability.

However, when he says "I so rarely feared for my life," I agree. The only time I felt anxious is when I was on a 'corpse run' and I didn't want to lose treasure. Once treasure is no longer an issue, the consequences of death are very small. I'm not saying I didn't die, I'm just saying dying didn't always feel like it mattered.

The game does a good job of letting you customize your difficulty, but if you let it, the game can start to feel like playing Final Fight in the arcade with infinite quarters.

@hahamanin It was published by Microsoft, but I don't think that they owned Big Huge Games. I assume that depending on the deal, the develeper can sometimes retain the IP rights to their games.

Big huge was eventually acquired by THQ. When THQ went under Big Huge was acquired by 38 Studios.

@Riddick123 Well, let's see. This is an article about Microsoft, its founder, and its shareholders.

Microsoft makes Windows for the PC...which is a platform for games.

Microsoft made the Xbox, Xbox360, and soon the Xbox1...which plays games.

Microsoft Studios, a wing of Microsoft, is a game developer and publisher.

Anything that happens to Microsoft could potentially change the landscape of gaming in a significant way. In some circles that's considered gaming news.

@Shanks_D_Chop @man_hammer @ElekTriX360 Okay, here goes.

Imagine the plot of a game story you feel is brilliant. Now, and this is key, add free cocaine.

Are you with me so far?

Now, take what we have so far and add Master Chief shooting stuff...also, multiplayer and tea bagging.

That's all I've got. Have I changed your mind yet?

@Shanks_D_Chop @ElekTriX360 No, I'll be the one to convince you.

What combination of words do I need to string together that will bring you on board?

Don't worry, I'm not constrained by the actual Halo plot. I'm willing to color outside the lines on this.

@musalala

Kojima's original tweet was a marketing tool for MGSV. I think that's pretty clear, but the discussions reek of people hijacking this 'news' to talk about their agenda.

Kojima is just the new whipping boy (or hero) as this hot button topic is re-discussed.

The funny thing is, although Kojima's intentions were to capitalize on "sex," the character design is relatively low key. It seems strange to me that the design is being demonized the way it is given that I barely noticed her when she was introduced at E3 months ago.

@GlaciusXL @FumikoM Generally speaking, the wording around the topic is aimed at the character design.

It's true, I can't think of an instance where Cortana acts sexual. However, her character design becomes more sexual as the franchise moved forward.

You're right though, her personality never reflected this. So this begs the question, why did they increase her breast size and hips as the series moved forward? There's no narrative reason.

I'm not particularly bothered by either character design. However, if I was bothered I'd have to be bothered by both, not just Quiet.
