I haven't really played a ton of JRPGs, and I guess my answer would depend on what counts as a JRPG. Right now I'm playing through FF7 for the first time, and excluding the fact that it's one of the ugliest games I've ever played, I really like it so far. I'm stuck on this damn demon gate boss though. I plan on playing some more SNES and PS1 RPGs after FF7 too.

I guess I'd have to go with Pokemon Crystal though. I got tired of Pokemon after the Ruby/Sapphire series, but I loved the Silver/Gold/Crystal series. In fact I bought all of them lol.

PS2 or N64 for me. The N64 has probably the highest quality library of all time, though it's not very large. The PS2 is on the other end. I didn't like it's top exclusives nearly as much as my gamecube but I'm still finding more games that I like on the PS2.

[QUOTE="Spinnerweb"] No it isn't; it had Separate Ways as an exclusive and all, and is the easiest to get a hold of :( Besides, the iOS version is the worst.Spinnerweb

The Wii, GC and PS2 versions are all basically the same price on Amazon. The PS2 version had worse AI, fewer enemies on screen, worse audio and a huge drop in the graphics/moodyness that the GC/Wii versions have. I've played almost all of both versions, and they basically butchered that game to get it to run on the PS2. It's not bad, but not really comparable to the other versions either.

That's kinda exaggerated. I barely noticed any difference between the graphics, audio and AI of the PS2 and GC version. The fewer enemies thing is true, but isn't that an advantage? I JEST :P

The Audio and AI isn't huge, but the graphics difference is very noticeable. They basically removed all the lighting in the PS2 version, which makes a huge difference in most of the night time areas.

Probably 20+ hours. Get the Wii or GC version if possible. The PS2 is by far the worst version.

[QUOTE="04dcarraher"] Well the Wii's cpu does around 2200 MIPS while the IBM power 7 cpu does around 43,000 MIPS So that's in the 20x range. 04dcarraher

How do you know how many MIPS the Wii's CPU does? lol

Either way, POWER7 is a pretty big jump over the current CPUs in consoles.

Because, The gamecube'scpu was IBM's "Gekko" which was very close to IBM's 750CXr cpu which had a MIPS performance of around 1100-1200 , and since the Wii's CPU was pretty much a overclocked Gekko , also that Nintendo stated that the Wii's CPU slightly more then 2x the performance of the GC. Which puts it close to the IBM 750GX cpu which is 2300 MIPS.

Fair enough, though I'm not sure that would be an entirely accurate comparison. If I remember right the Gekko was pretty heavily modified from the processor it was derived from.

IBM Power7 CPU is basically already confirmed, so this shouldn't surprise anyone. 20 times more powerful sounds a bit on the low side though. If it's a normal 710 express, it's probably much more then that.

The original battlefront is far better IMO. I have both for Xbox, and the PS2 version of BF1 (had a friend give it to me for free) and the first one on the xbox is the only one I ever play, and I still play it somewhat regularly. There is a pretty big difference between the Xbox and PS2 versions. The Xbox basically looks like the PC version. Only a tiny bit worse.
