Oh look, more politically correct garbage being forcefully shoe horned into the game. Lame SJW characters are annoying as hell.

@julianboxe: No thanks, I'm not going to learn a broken and inferior method of playing a game. Going from mouse keyboard to controller is a VAST downgrade, I kid you not.

The only thing the controller has going for it is the ease and quickness of transitioning from one button to another in a fraction of a second (200-300 ms). This works great for games like street fighter where the only direction you need to go is left and right.

The biggest problem with the controller is 360 third/first person movement where you need to simulate a camera. I'm surprised they haven't figured this out yet with a new controller design. Consoles desperately need a new concept for the controller, a complete controller overhaul.

@haanabi89: If you see multiple enemies on the screen, your eyes in real life are locked on to them. You don't need the game to lock on unless the controls are broken. The direction you face determines which enemy you want to hit, it's a very simple concept. Somehow the developers failed to understand this. You might be able to do that quick step back, but even then you lose control of your char for a split second.

When you hold shield up and press the BACK/S control, it means you want your character to continue facing forward while back pedaling. Designing it any other way makes absolutely ZERO sense, but then it hit me, using a controller makes ZERO sense.

It's so sad to see people defending the controller when it's clearly an inferior method of control. It's even sadder when developers are forced to develop shitty control mechanics to compensate for the controllers inferiority.

But hey, ignorance is bliss right?

If you raise your shield to guard and then move left, right or back, your character will actually turn the wrong way and expose his flank (side/back) to the enemy. The only way to fix that is to first lock on to your opponent. Any respectable PC gamer with an ounce of skill will tell you that locking on is not required with the precision available with mouse and keyboard.

PC MASTER RACE: When you hold right click to guard with a shield and move side to side or back, your character should continue to face the direction where the shield was raised. When turning your mouse with shield up, depending on your mouse acceleration the upper torso should rotate first followed by the characters body if the acceleration was fast. This is how any developer would naturally design a shield guard system.

It took me about 45 minutes to realize that the skill in Dark Souls 3 is overcoming the shitty controls. It's kind of like riding a bike with a flat tire, sure it takes skill, but everyone looks at you like you're retarded. Thank god I was able to try this game first at a friends house, he regrets buying it (he's pure PC like me).

PC MASTER RACE: Another problem with the game is the camera constantly fights you. The only time the camera should act on it's own is if it collides with any kind of mesh, that's it. Other than that, the camera should always be in the control of the player. Fortunately you can turn off all the auto camera features.

Yet another problem with the game is the dodging. No matter how well you think you nailed the timing, you still get hit most of the time. I really don't understand why, but the game had already made such a poor first impression I just didn't want to play anymore. Maybe a tutorial could've helped, but there isn't one.

I've beaten Witcher 2 on hard mode in an Ironman rule set. I have some experience with this kind of combat system. You can watch on youtube if you just look up my username.

MY VERDICT: Don't waste your time with this game, it's not worth the frustration of mastering it's unbelievably broken controls.

@Arkhalipso: I'll take that as a compliment, I have zero interest in 99% of games lol. Is that a guy or girl in your picture? *vomit*

Wait, isn't Oculus Rift offline hardware, kind of like a video card? Don't you just download drivers like normal? Does Oculus Rift require that it remains connected to the internet? Do you have to have an internet connection or it won't work? I'm assuming it can still be used if you disconnect your computer from the internet. Oh and btw, screw facebook.

@00J: Graphics, music, dialogue, voice acting and being able to role play a character through dialogue choices. This gets you emotionally involved in the game drives you to excel in whatever combat system is present in game.

@NorseLax09: Looks like a sierra game from the early 90's.
