@silversix_: You must be kidding. These are just faceplates (xbox doesn't even have the option to personalize anything). These are not the same as special or limited edition consoles, where Playstation have the upper hand (Anniversary Edition, Batman, Metal Gear Solid, Destiny), all look mint!
@silversix_: It's not good to give up on new ideas in favor of remakes. But making both new games and remaking old ones is a good thing. A lot of old games have great stories, yet they would be ingnored by new gamers just because they are on last gen consoles. Having them on new consoles, with new graphics, will make a lot of people experience the magic.
@i_p_daily: Awesome, can you please let me know of the 3 great racing games on the competitors machines? Like what are the names? Please don't say Forza. Please.
@dani_i89: I completely agree. It's not twice as good, the sales aren't proportional to the quality. However it does seem better. It's not that big of a difference between them, but it's visible that one is more gaming oriented, and the other is more 'fun for the whole family' oriented.
The fact that they had the nerve to announce the drm issue was a factor for me switching, but it wasn't all. Looking at the exclusives that PS puts out, it was hard for me not to make the switch. Seeing how PS owners were playing games like TLOU, beyond two souls, god of war, uncharted, while I was playing gears of war was really demotivating for me. And even now, looking back, I played Killzone, Infamous Second Son, TLOU Remastered (so glad they made it for ps4 too), bloodborne, until dawn, even the order (short and simple gameplay but amazing graphics), while for Xbox I would've played Rise and Sunset Overdrive (really don't like dead rising and forza).
In the future I'm thinking of having both consoles, because Quantum Break and Scalebound look promising. However, I can not think about going forward without a PS4 with Uncharted looking simply godlike, the last guardian, the final fantasy remake and other probable announcements like a new Gran Turismo or a new God of War....
@i_p_daily: Nowadays supporting a product means you're a fanboy right? Ok. The numbers I mentioned are the only official ones mentioned on the internet, if you can find more accurate ones, have at it, not very important though.
If you pick your console based on the racing games, you're gonna have a bad time. The only good racing game that came out in the past years is Project Cars, which is third party (i'm talking about an actual simulation racing game). If you want to have fun in flashy cars Forza Horizon is a good option indeed, but I doubt it's something you purchase a console for.
Also, there's a bigger hope for a good racing game on Sony's side, with Gran Turismo, rather than hoping Microsoft will make a Forza that's actually a good simulation game, and not just a game that's fun for the whole family.
@dani_i89: What are you talking about? I didn't say the initial sales are an indication of quality, exactly the opposite, I said that if it were only for the initial sales it wouldn't have been relevant, but it's two years later and they are still outselling xbox 2 to 1 every month, that's not marketing anymore.
Also, what are you talking about? Just because there are few exclusive titles coming out this half of year doesn't mean they didn't do anything. They are listening to EVERYTHING that the gamers ask for and implement it. People wanted youtube streaming, they got it, people wanted twitch app, they got it, people wanted communities, they got them. Everything is being done by the request of the gamers.
I can appreciate an Xbox fan, I've been one myself until the Xbox One flop, but I don't appreciate somebody that bashes something with unfonded arguments just to prove a point.
