[QUOTE="starwarsjunky"]what i'm getting this year is spiderman shattered dimensions, force unleashed 2, enslaved, the last guardian, Donkey kong. not much else that interests me on either side. Haziqonfire

I'm not sure about Spider-Man. It looks great, but I really want to see how it does critically as well. The last good Spider-Man game to me was Ultimate Spider-Man.

I'll probably get Metroid: Other M next month and then wait for Donkey Kong Country Returns for my birthday. I was thinking of getting Kirby's Epic Yarn and Epic Mickey, but I don't know about either yet. I had interest in Goldeneye Wii too but not anymore. I do want a good Wii FPS though. We'll see.

But so far, Metroid: Other M and Donkey Kong Country Returns. I might just borrow AC: Brotherhood from a friend though.

Why no Goldeneye anymore?

] Well they can't actually use the same level designs because they don't own that stuff. The good thing, though, is that the original game used the blueprints of the movie set to design the levels, so the devs of the new game can do the same thing and still call it their own original work. But that means that anything from the original game that WASN'T part of the movie set isn't going to be used.

As far as I understand, this game isn't a remake of the original game in any sense... just a reimagining of the movie in the form of a game. Now of course they're not doing that in a bubble with no context of the original game, but unless I've missed some important copyright info, this game technically doesn't have anything to do with the original. It's not a remake in the sense that Zero Mission is a remake of the original Metroid, for example.

So I don't expect any of the actual levels to be even close to what the original game had.... though I'm sure they'll have similar areas within each level because of the whole movie set blueprint stuff.

I think this will be what you want

[QUOTE="link027"]

I don't know why you guys are dishing on him so bad. Granted he didn't really back up his statements but some of them are definitely justifiable. Yes i know where is the data but looking around I think that the world is slowly getting worse. Something I think I can level with everyone on (maybe not) is, which you may or may not see, is that with M games there are a lot more kids playing them. I personally know of a situation where a kid plays M games and he has been doing it since he was about 5. It wasn't GTA but it was still Halo, COD, etc. I may be the only one but I don't think it is necessarily the best thing for kids to be playing M games.

GabuEx

I count like two of them that are actually legitimately justifiable, those being that jobs are being sent overseas at an increased rate and that porn is more available than ever. The rest are either flat-out provably wrong (crime rate up, murder up, more wars), anecdotal evidence with no objective evidence behind it (more rioting, more anger and hatred) or not even a legitimately quantifiable statement (zero value of human life - what does that even mean?).

Why did I take the time to respond in this way? Because the world isn't slowly getting worse, and I can't stand it when people claim it is. I would not be surprised if every new generation that has ever existed believes that their generation is the worst generation yet, simply on account of the fact that they weren't around to experience past generations. It's the exact same thing that led people to declare George W. Bush the worst president in the history of the US; they were not around to live through the presidency of people like James Buchanan. It's nonsense, and people need to be aware that it's nonsense so people can get some perspective and stop being so negative about the world.

I agree with you on your first paragraph and it is probably more accurate to say that the world isn't getting any better. I'm really not super pessimistic, really it's all just subjective, but I'm following you.

[QUOTE="bob_newman"][QUOTE="link027"] He still never said thatsnowman6251

On no he has. He's made it very clear that his opinion is fact. On many occasions. Go through his posting history and you'll see what I mean.

Just take a look at this. If that's not a perfect example I don't know what is.

Yeah I understand that, but I wasn't aware I was supposed to cross check everyone's post history when I'm talking about an unrelated topic. My Bad
