I would have to say that the most tragic story in sports would probably Vladimir Konstantinov. He was a Red Wing defense monster and part of the famed russian 5. His story is quite tragic. Just a short while after the Red Wings won their first Stanley Cup in decades, he was in a tragic car accident. He suffered both mental and physical problems, as he can barely remember his own family (let alone his previous triumphs on the ice), and can no longer even walk without aid. Luckily though, the Red Wings have paid for most(if not all) his medical bills and made it possible for his family to care for him. It is truly sad when a gifted individual has his whole world ripped away from him.

It is another thing when a dumb*** opens his mouth and takes a bite out of Evander Holyfield. Not only is Mike Tyson a rapist, but one of the most unsportsmanlike professional athletes in history. I don't give a crap about his beginnings and past hardships (Ben Wallace used to live in a house with a dirt floor, and he has yet to bite/rape anyone). Fact is he was an extremely talented, multi-millionare who squandered his winnings and whines about how hard his life was. He should be whining about how stupid he is or how he is mentally unfit to care for himself, because quite frankly, everyone who has posted on this forum would not be complaining about how hard our lives were if we were multi-millionares. Most of us would be thankful. Not a whiney little b****.

Wow this is wierd .. went from page one, which dealt with whether or not we were superior beings to this page, which is creation vs evolution. Don't really feel like finding out how the subject changed, so I will just answer both (as best I can):

superior beings:

Yes. Duh. You are using the 'net. Know of anything else that does that? We are the only beings in history with the power to prevent/lessen natural disasters. (i.e. building "earthquake proof" homes, or the fact that if an asteroid on a collision course was detected, we have the technology to stop it. We have sent probes to asteroids/comets and have the tech to alter their trajectory by at least 1 degree, which would be enough to alter the course away from a collision. There are more examples, but you get my point)

creation vs evolution:

Well evolution exsists ... there is just too much proof to deny it(most importantly logic). Creation on the other hand is more tricky. Since all we have on it is information from the Bible, which despite popular belief, was written by man not god, cannot be interperted as the absolute truth. The real question is whether or not god exsists (because if he does, then he is the one who created the big bang, and thereby all elements/molecules and the key ingredients for evolution). I believe god exsists because of life. If you take the elements that make life and put them in the same order as a living being, it still does not create life. Something else gives that spark, and that has to be god. Whether or not god is the same being(or even a being at all) as what the bible refers to as god is another matter. But he exsists. So why not creation through evolution.

But thats just what I think.

You need to be specific here ... Randy Couture would dominate little Floyd, so would Tim Sylvia. But in his weight class, there aren't many. I think it was already said but GSP could probably beat him without a problem, and for that matter so could Matt Hughes and BJ Penn.

Don't assume too much. In a straight boxing match the boxers will win of course, but if it was just a plain fight I would say the MMA guys have a better chance at winning.

Actually there are several phenomenal boxers who have made the transition to mma with less than stellar results. Fact is that if an mma guy can get past the initial few punches, most are gonna take the boxers to the mat ... which is completely out of their element. When most boxers are taken down, they literally have no idea what to do next. Not to mention that jui-jitsu is widely considered the best individual martial art (even when you count boxing), and most mma fighters utilize at least some jui-jitsu. As far as them being fast, that only applies to their fists. Their footwork is designed to dodge punches, not takedowns.
