@SOedipus: Hey there, I found out that this change took place on 7/22. The reason it was implemented is because of spam mitigation reasons, not to piss anyone off or trying to make it difficult for our members to communicate with each other. It was a necessary change as the PM spam was getting out of hand. Hopefully this clears things up and you understand why it was implemented. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

I wanted to let you all know that GameSpot has decided to discontinue submissions in the game specific forums. All current existing discussion topics are still available for you to read and reference, however creating new topics and replies have been disabled.

These forums were shut down because they saw very little to no use by our members and the efforts to keep them groomed and clean of abuse (spammers, cough, cough) was not worth our efforts to maintain them.

I know some of you will miss these forums and we are sorry for the inconvenience. You’re more than welcome to create new discussions on specific game titles in our Games Discussion forum here.

@SOedipus: Thank you for reporting this. Let me find out if there were any changes done to the PMs settings. I know that in the last month or so spammers have been creating accounts only to spam our members with porn links, so it is possible that there was a change in the system. I'll find out and let you know. Thank again for bring this up.

@MirkoS77: Hey there, underline misspelled words, like when you are typing in the submission form for comments or forums? If so that would be in your browser setting for spell check.
