Sorry, the movie was mediocre at best. The only reason it became the most highly rated Marvel movie of all time was because of the racial cultural movement. That's just plain truth. And that's not to say it's a bad thing that black people are rallying behind the movie. If it's something they support and identify with? Great.

Problem is that's the criteria on which the movie was being judged and not the quality of the writing as a super hero movie. Take all race out of it, and you're left with a mildly above average film that uses some of Marvels most basic hero movie tropes to put together a basic introductory film.

Was it an enjoyable movie? Sure. Is it a welcome edition to the Marvel Lineup? Of course. But to say this movie was better than all of Marvels previous hero introductory movies, most importantly the first Iron Man and the first Avengers movie? That's fucking ludicrous.

Disregarding the black cultural influence and looking at it strictly as a hero movie, it's probably somewhere in the middle; above Iron Man 3, Ultron, and Ant Man.

@mighty-lu-bu: @piru_lee:

On top of what piru-lee mentioned, another reason is probably due to this being a new entry for the franchise from a new company. Although the games gotten rave reviews already and is almost guaranteed to be a hit, it'd be a waste of time and resources to develop 60 characters for a brand new game that might fail, while if it succeeds can always be added in the sequels.

Kind of disappointed there's no Super Buu. It looks like Goku/Vegeta/Frieza will be able to power up in combat since their SSJ/Golden forms aren't separate. Would've been cool to have Super Buu be able to power up into one of his absorbed forms and fight with that for a round.

Now in the DLC they just need to add Jiren so whoever picks him just insta-wins.

@WingcommanderIV: I heard that theory as well. Honestly I don't think it's going to be the case. He got bit and was bleeding pretty good, started to look pale and sweaty like the symptoms were getting to him.

Also if you take into account all of the outside factors like his exit interview, where he talks about getting the death write off call, his dad going on social media being absolutely furious, and Gimple on the Talking Dead saying it was a bite and was going to play out like a bite.

Of course I would love for that to be the case. For them to have pulled this long con on all the viewers and totally pulled a fast one on them. If that was the case though idk why they wouldn't just say "mmmm wait for the premiere we don't want to spoil anything".

Kind of funny that season 2's finale has the lowest ratings when that was the first full season the show had...and that ending was damn good.

I've been a die hard fan from the beginning. I've defended the show through thick and thin. The pros have always outweighed the cons for me.

Especially within the last two seasons where they really started getting into the thick of the good comic material, and they were adapting it super well...and they were proud of how well they were adapting it.

...Then Scott M. Gimple showed up with his horrible writing, and he decided that shock factor > greater than good story telling and faithfully adapting the comic material.

And as much as I defended the show time and time again, that pretty much ended with this seasons mid-season finale, when ***SPOILER ALERT STOP READING HERE****

They kill Carl off. The character who's basically one of, if not THE most centrally important character in later arcs when he finally gets his time to shine. And there's no one to replace him like their was with other characters (like swapping out Andrea and mixing her traits into Carol and Michonne). There are things in the story to be told that can ONLY be done because of Carl.

And anyone who read Chandler's Hollywood Access interview would know he was completely blindsided by the move as well. So it's not like he was choosing to leave the show.

Was I the only one just actually yelling "get out of the fucking area already and get back to the bike" the entire time?

Pretty sure there's more than a little bit of bias here towards Legend of Zelda games.

Damn, 90% of this list was so bad it was actually painful.

@sadface1234: You do realize that even if they don't publicly announce those numbers that they're still responsible for telling it to shareholders and the board right? Not telling the public isn't going to change the fact that the people who control the money are still going to know.

So yes, it is cowardly that they are trying to trick the general public in order to save face. It sounds a lot better for them to admit they have a problem, and they are going to do things differently to bring back and maintain subscriber interest than to lie and throw up meaningless positive figures in their reports.

Pumping out xpacs faster doesn't mean shit when it's at the cost of a smaller amount of content and even less big update patches then before. All of the xpacs to come will be WoD size or smaller. And if statistics show anything, it's that pumping out more xpacs wont hold sub numbers if there is less content.
If WoW had 7mil subs at the end of Cata, and it jumped to 12 with the release of Panda. Then it dipped to 6mil, the upped to 11 with WoD. Now it's down to almost 5. With even less content expected the subs may only hit 10, and the drop off after content is completed will be much much faster.

@Bexorcist: Tbh I respectfully disagree.

As someone who was super into wow ever since the vanilla days, I bought FFXIV a bit after it came out while it was on sale on a whim, and after that I couldn't go back. I find it to be light years ahead of wow.

The questing is really story driven. When I first started I found it pretty boring too, and usually with the side quest story lines that are zone specific I usually fly through them. Though after 2 years of playing, I came to appreciate how in depth the narrative is and how interesting all of the quests are; especially the later main story questline.

Really WoW isn't that different either. There are plenty of quests where you do menial shit like lay flowers at 6 graves, or someone makes you find a trinket, you do, bring it back, and they give you some pointless story about the trinkets history. It probably just feels different because quests in wow go a bit quicker, especially with those menial quests where all of the dialogue is in 1 tiny box that you can just hit one button on rather than in FFXIV where you have to click through the dialogue. When all is said and done they both pretty much have identical questing grinds, they just seem different because of they way they are implemented. If anything, WoW's questing has become a lot more like FFXIV in Draenor since they really wanted to focus on the narrative and make you feel like a part of it.

I also don't have a problem with the zones either. The loading time between them is like .02 seconds. And all of the zones usually have people in them so it never feels boring or empty. Really, the zones are basically to keep certain areas from being over stressed. It's their version of what WoW does with "phasing" where people are in different phases but all in the same zone. I did find it weird when I first started playing too, lol. If anything though, I don't think the zones affect it feeling like a living world at all. There are plenty of places and stuff that actually get visual changes every time they patch the game.
- Idk if you made it there, but the first end game central town, Mor Dohna, has little NPCs that are always doing construction and stuff, and every time they have a big patch the city gets updated with new buildings/shops/bridges etc. WoW didn't get it's first visual change to major hubs until Cata.

The zones and the story driven quests are really just an acquired taste. It's different and off-putting for a lot of new players, but once you put a good chunk of time into the game you don't pay attention to that anymore.

Personally I found so much more stuff in FF that was way better than WoW. The graphics, mechanics and character creation as you mentioned. Player housing which is way better than garrisons, the constant content updates and how they even add little things like emotes and hair styles. The glamor vanity system is much more lenient and fun than WoW's transmog vanity system. Little details like doors opening and such with sound effects. Better weather system. The community is way less toxic than WoW. I could go on and on, haha. I get that it's not for everybody though. It's not like I shit on WoW players or anything, it's all about taste.
