My 80 gig fat Ps3 is a couple of months from celebrating it's 5th birthday and this awesome new feature you mention of, this YLOD, is nowhere to be found *sadface*arsenal1111

No worries! Just be a little more patience and it will soon come my friend! If you're too impatience just heat up and dust it. Ylod is beautiful!!

[QUOTE="Kravyn81"]Bought my fatty, 80 GB at the beginning of January '08 and it's still performing like a champ. Sorry about your luck.lazyathew

We got the original in '07 and it died in '10 I think. Sucked too since that was our PS3 and PS2, and the new PS3's don't play PS2 games. :(

ps2 is 100x reliable than the ps3, true story! The ps2 disc read error is so easy to fix clean the laser lens and it reads cd all the time, whereas the Ylod is impossible to fix, there is temporary fix but that is not really a fix because it will damage the system even more i heard.

Luck?? really?? I heard from the shop that a lot of people bringing back their Ylod ps3 to the shop. I been taking good care of my ps3 more than ps2 and the old xbox, and i have never even clean those systems once and those still work for about 8 to 10 years now.

The PS3 Slims are not supposed to "up and Die" as the PS3 phats did. Power surge or something. Bad luck

Megavideogamer

Bad luck? Not so close! It's more like he had a bad luck when he bought the console at the first place. Get a wii instead!!

What games series do you think that should never continue? Crysis game is so buggy and unfinished so i need that game to end its production. Call of Duty is a copy and past product what i heard, so that game should end its production too.

Sony's video game console has always been improved and surprise us with an awesome new console. ps3 is a huge step forward from its previous console ps2.

ps3 has improved graphics, online feature and its service. There is one awesome thing that ps3 has, which ps2 is completely lacking, is this awesome Ylod.

Ylod is a brand new feature which makes ps3 became completely useless after only a few years of use. It's fun to have a dead console and you loss the system and be force to buy a new one in order to play it again. Now i cannot wait for ps4's Super Ylod, that would be awesome to see the console not only overheat for 3 months of use, but also burning my house as well.

I owned and played the first Crysis and its expension. Let me tell you the truth, the game is boring and have a huge amount of glitches and bugs. If you like a buggy and glitchy game, then Crysis2 would be a steal not a buy for you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. And yes, my ps2 failure was indeed disc read error. I read somewhere where the ps3 uses quite a bit of power to run movies and programs, so that would make sense for it to run just as hot. The power was something like 4-5x what a standard bluray player uses to play movies.

Thanks again.

Anyone else with personal experience on slim/superslim?

ps2's disc read error was pretty much easy to fix. All you need to do is clean its lens. I clean mine and it works 100 percent except those blue disc thing.
