I'm apprehensive about using countdown timers throughout the game (and perhaps one giant countdown timer for the whole game). Timed missions are some of my least favorite challenges in video games. They tend to make me feel anxious. I'm an explorer and completionist, and I often dilly-dally and spend a lot of time grinding or farming, as well. Telling me I don't have time for that stuff would likely wreck my experience. So, I hope there are ways of managing it that alleviate that tension.
I'll bet this cast is not as expensive as the article makes it seem. The biggent talent (dollar-wise) will be Stone and Liu. Everyone else, while certainly recognizable to fans of whatever they were in (<3 Yunjin Kim), doesn't really have a big Hollywood name, or anything. And their roles probably won't be that large.
Still, I do wonder how much it cost, considering how well a big-budget game needs to sell in order to be profitable.
Honestly, I would say the same thing about 24 hours, but I have never done anything like that and have no desire to, so that's what the thought is like from my perspective. If you like to play nonstop for as long as possible and have done it before, then I guess these numbers wouldn't seem like a big deal.
But it sure as hell is wanted. By me, at least. Then again, I'm someone who updates his PC hardware every 2 years or so. So, of course consoles from 2005 and 2006 are going to feel old by comparison.
I appreciate the tone and settings of The Witcher and its sequel, but the gameplay doesn't fit my style. I hope that one of those two is more of a traditional RPG. I also hope that they are better optimized for PC considering how demanding a game TW2 is. Regardless, I'm sure a lot of people will be happy. And I am very pleased that a company with their seemingly selfless business practices is thriving.
