I am not looking to spend more than $300 that is really pushing it for me, so is the 7950 enough of an upgrade over my 5870?

Also is it likely to work/fit if my pc can run my 5870, my specs are listed at the start

would a 7950 be enough of an upgrade, $300 is really pushing the limits and the 7970 is in the $400's

Hello, I am not that knowledgable in computer hardware so I was wandering which of the two GTX 660 or 7870 to get, I currently have a 5870.

I am choosing between:

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-GDDR5-Graphics-11199-03-20G/dp/B007JCNOY6/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1353907167&sr=1-2&keywords=7870

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-PCI-Express-Displayport-Graphics-GV-N660OC-2GD/dp/B00942TK8I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1353907069&sr=8-3&keywords=660

On a side note, I think it will work on my system but if anyone knows I have the following:

  • Intel Core i7 860 (2.80Ghz/8MB/LGA1156/Quad Core)
  • Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 MB, intel P55, DDR3 2000, PCI-Ex 16, SATA3, USB 3.0, RAID, GbE LAN, 8CH Audio, 2oc PCB, SLI and Crossfire, Heatpipe, ATX.
  • Sapphire Radion HD5870 (850mhz), 1GB GDDR5, (2400mhz), PCI-E-2.0, DVI, HDMI, Display Port
  • Corsair 4GB Kit (2x8GB), PC12800, (1600MHz) DDR3, XMS3, 9-9-9-24, Dual Channel Kit
  • Asus DRW-24BIST 24xDVD-RW, 12xDVD+RW, 40xCDRW, SATA, NER08, SM
  • Western Digital 1TB, SATA-II, 7200RPM, 32MB cache
  • CoolerMaster CM 690, ATX, no PSU.2x USB2.0, tool free drive bays
  • Antec EathWatts 650W ATX Power Supply, 80 PLUS certified, 120mm low noise cooling fan, Dual 12V outputs, 2xPCI express, 4 x SATA, 6 x IDE
  • Windows 7 Home Premium

Hello, I am looking to wipe my pc as it seems to of filled with god knows what. Is there a way to do this where I can determine which files I would like to keep? for example I would not want drivers being uninstalled, I would not like folders like Steam being unistalled, etc.

Furthermore is doing this by using my windows 7 installation disk the best way to do this, if you can designate things to keep that is.

thanks :)

Hello, i have had my PC for 2 years now and the parts are as follows:

  • Intel Core i7 860 (2.80Ghz/8MB/LGA1156/Quad Core)
  • Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 MB, intel P55, DDR3 2000, PCI-Ex 16, SATA3, USB 3.0, RAID, GbE LAN, 8CH Audio, 2oc PCB, SLI and Crossfire, Heatpipe, ATX.
  • Sapphire Radion HD5870 (850mhz), 1GB GDDR5, (2400mhz), PCI-E-2.0, DVI, HDMI, Display Port
  • Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB), PC12800, (1600MHz) DDR3, XMS3, 9-9-9-24, Dual Channel Kit
  • Asus DRW-24BIST 24xDVD-RW, 12xDVD+RW, 40xCDRW, SATA, NER08, SM
  • Western Digital 1TB, SATA-II, 7200RPM, 32MB cache
  • CoolerMaster CM 690, ATX, no PSU.2x USB2.0, tool free drive bays
  • Antec EathWatts 650W ATX Power Supply, 80 PLUS certified, 120mm low noise cooling fan, Dual 12V outputs, 2xPCI express, 4 x SATA, 6 x IDE
  • Windows 7 Home Premium

So what is looking in most need of an upgrade, at the moment I am thinking of buying another 2x2gb or 4gb RAM, but as i don't know alot about computer hardware I would like ot know if anything else is getting dated as I can no longer run recent games as well as I would like

thanks :)

[QUOTE="jhon9728"][QUOTE="GTR12"]

The security centre isn't gone...

YOU HAVE MALWARE.

GTR12

ok now it's just the firewall issue that remains, thanks, going to use malware instead of AVG

Malwarebytes handles mainly spyware, it cant protect you from viruses, download MSE from Microsoft, its free.

So does the fact my firewall no longer works not matter when protected by both of those programs? Also I thought the PRO version of malwarebytes protects you from viruses?
