well it depends on what game. for mariop kart, that always happens. u just have to get lucky. with other games, liek zelda, players ALWAYZ leavee right when ur about to win, so yea.
u have to beat like 6 or 7 gyms. then teh profesor gives u the master ball. if ur pokemon r strong enough, u shud b able to weaken palkia and not have to use the master ball, like my brother did. there is only 1 master ball in pearl as far as i know.
