Well if you are not worried about playing PS2 and PS1 games, then you should just stick with the 40 gig model. After all you can buy a laptop hard drive later and upgrade to more storage. The 40 gig also does not have the media slots in the front of the system (but I think thats trivial). If your looking to save money and don't care about the backwards compatibility, get a 40gig. They are still offering the free blu-ray movies with the system too!

The PS2 was the main console for developers, it was the weakest and games were scalled down to it's strength so it was also dveloped for it. Now the 360 is the main console for 90% of all developers, so every multiplatform is made with the 360's capabilities in mind. They wont make use of the PS3's 'extra' strength. And it's possible that the PS3 version doesnt work aswell because of this. With some games it is really noticable and some of them should never have been released the way they did.

The difference between the PS3 version and the 360 version of AC isnt as big as some games and if your playing one without ever seeing the other one then you wont notice it. But the PS3 version did on a few occasions froze for a second, the 360 never did (for me).

I'm not in the hype game of systems, but I agree 100%.

I am happy to say that Assassins Creed on 360 looks a hell of a lot better than the PS3 version, and load time seems to be better as well. I noticed the PS3 did suffer from some hang time, with some of the load parts. So with that said, I will still be playing my 360. I was loosing faith in it with all my friends PS3-ed out! So there are some games that look better on other systems!

I noticed some games can play in 1080i.1080p. (Such as COD:4) Why is the game broadcasting in 720p by default. I found the only way to recognize 1080 was to go into settings and uncheck 720p. I know there are some games that can reconginize the conversion without any problems. Is this a glitch, or are most game developers, setting games at 720p for defualt.

I don't know how different it is in the US, but I work for GAME in the UK (pretty much the equivalent of your EB), and some publishers DO send out dummy covers to use, but its usually only the very big games that we get them for, this means that we have to put a few 'real' cases out there otherwise you wouldn't know we had the game in stock. Our stickers are small, and they're the ones that peel off real easy (again it might be different in the US). Anyway, it is a pain for us if people are coming in demanding a sealed copy, since there is no difference to the actual game that you'll be playing, and there is no reason for you to expect or demand a pristine sealed game. For instance, when we received our copies of PES2008 for the PS3, NONE of them were in sellofane wrapping, yet people refuse to buy them. Well, sorry but you can't get it any other way. So don't complain at us for providing you with a service that a lot of people take for granted.Foffity

LOL, and aren't they going to open it anyways?

Okay it's not like im defending EB/GameStop stores, but if you don't want the last copy of a game you don't have to take it. Go to another retail store and see if you can find a copy of the game else where. If they had display art for all the games people would complain if the box was on the wall and they didn't have it in stock. So either way, it's kind of pointless. I don't mind getting the last copy, but I do check the disk out, even if it is new, it is only fair. Buy the game else where, but sometimes gamestop/eb has games that other stores don't have new. It's your decision to buy an unsealed copy in the end :)

With the Dual Shock 2 controller surrounding Sony witha law suite in the past, I was walking around in target and noticed a controller called the "Force". It was packaged in an offical PS2 package, and upon closer inspection, it had the "official licensed product" logo on the product as well. I'm curious, if Sony has now developed a Force Feed Back Style controller themselves and are just now paying royalty rights? Has anyone else seen this ps2 controller?
