Since the NES, this is the first console generation that I have ZERO desire to purchase one in. I am 39 years old. This is the first time since 1986 that I haven't owned a console and there isn't a single game out there that is making me regret it. AND IT SUCKS because I love video games. Steam is my console now.
If it's up to four players throughout the entire campaign, I am all about it. If it's just a few missions or set pieces, that's still cool, but it isn't enough for me to think, "I have to have another AC game." After Brotherhood I was kinda burned out. I know that Black Flag was well regarded, but it's like Madden. Just franchise exhaustion for me. The four player thing for the whole game would fix that.
All the points below are valid. Danielle's review of this game on Polygon read similarly to this one. No flaws are pointed out at all. What is it about the game that doesn't make it flawless. That's all that people are saying. The critiques of the flaws are missing.
For all the haters in here, GS gave Child of Light their "game of the month" and and Alex Navarro who works for Giant Bomb (also owned by CBSi) gave it 3 stars out of 5. People have differing opinions on things. It's a crazy world where 2 guys go to lunch and one of them gets a hamburger and the other a hot dog.
The only games I think Kevin has ever had clouded judgment on are the Assassin's Creed games. Because he loved the first few so much, I think he was lenient on a few of them that were pretty bad, but I think he would say as much himself in retrospect.
The game is a buggy mess. That drops a ton of score right off the bat.
@rolla020980 Totally agree. I love to roll a stealthy thief in the single player games and because they didn't make caves, houses and ruins instanced, it ruins playing that type of character. Nothing as maddening as trying to stealth in a ruin with 20 other people in it and all the loot containers are empty. This is where GW2 outshines TESO in spades. Every chest can be looted by every player once per day. Every crafting node can be harvested by every player once per day. This small change makes such a HUGE difference. I wish they would do the same for TESO.
So more pics of Jess and more rants from Kev and Caro about equality, but totally missing the point that Jess is plastered all over the front page week in and week out. The right hand has zero idea what the left is doing.
@fiddlecub Is there a way to get this in audio form so I can listen to it? It's a bummer not being able to listen to this while I drive, mow the lawn, work out etc. Is there a reason why we can't if we can't get it? Also, finding this show is super infuriating. All I ever see on the front page are AAA games and pics of Jess. I don't mind looking at Jess, but give us something for the pertinent information. This show needs more visibility. It's smart, funny and enjoyable. We need less of Jess doing the talking head thing and having her picture up all over the front page. We get it: She's young, cute and your demo likes looking at her. This show needs its own display on the front page though. Why is it a show that is weekly and is about the most in depth stuff you guys have on the website is buried? It's poor implementation. Also, it needs an audio version post haste!
lol the magic in this trailer is way too cool for this game. the magic in the game looks nothing like this. why would you hype something more than you can offer? yeah, you get better sales, but you sacrifice the long term of your game. i would jump in game and immediately be disappointed.
also, zenimax: you want me to pay $15 a month for a game that is zoned and not open world like single player ES games? No thanks. I will play more skyrim and then stick to GW2 which is zoned but has no sub fee.
