Wow EJ, it sounds like you're going to take all of your "borrowed" movie files off your computer and put them on your next gen system. Honestly though, I have no clue if you can do that or not. It may not originally come with that option, but God only knows how many software updates Sony will offer (maybe even for free) to do more and more stuff. So even if it doesn't originally support divx, it probably will eventually. As far as the external/portable HDD drive, I'm 99.999999% sure that IT WILL WORK! Consider the fact that almost all external HDD drives these days are flash-compliant, and Sony already said that flash-drives will work on the USB port. Put two and two together, I'll bet you a million bucks it will work.

Ok, maybe you guys didn't see my post, so I'll post again just to make sure. Sorry if I annoy anyone with my double post. Please disregard if you've already read this: "Am I going crazy? A while back, I thought I saw something, somewhere................that said you can use the PS3 as a personal video recorder. When I read this, I got the impression that I can ditch my stupid DVR that my cable company provides and use the Playstation instead. Does anybody else know anything about this, or am I just not taking the right dose of meds?"

Hey Boyzone, it's actually 57". Can I tell the difference? Yes, but barely and only if I'm looking for a differnce. But if I'm sitting back watching my Cardinals whoop up on the Tigers, I'm not even seeing a difference because I'm not looking for it, ya know what I mean? Kinda like when you walk into the bathroom and at first you smell poo, but after you're in there for a couple minutes, you don't smell it anymore. The smell is still there, but you're no longer distinguishing that smell so you don't notice it. LOL, I know, that's a dumb analogy.

Don't feel bad, my HDTV isn't 1080p either, but I still think it looks good enough to me. I'm not paying a butt load of $$$ just to have 1080p. $2500+, no way...........720p and 1080i look good enough to me, LOL

Hey guys, no offense.....................but STFU!!! It's like you guys are comparing dick sizes and there aren't even any girls around to see. You guys no who you are. Nobody cares to come hear and see two or more people talking sh** on each other. Stating your opinion is one thing, but knock off the bashing. and you guys know who you are, so don't ask

Well Slicksteve, if you think about it..........You wouldn't want to over-estimate the quantity needed for launch and then end up with systems still on the shelf. Then it would look like the system isn't selling well and it's not worth buying. Always better to under-estimate, that way not only are you certain to sell ALL of the systems, but it also creates more hype, and helps push over those who are "on the fence " about buying it.

Hey Ravi, I don't know if this would work or not, but..........you could buy an HDMI cord, and then an adapter that turns HDMI into DVI output, then you could buy a DVI cord to connect to your monitor. Don't know if that would work, but it seems to make sense to me. Anyone else have any ideas?
