I've tried the towel trick about 5 times now and it has worked every time. I however found that the console will last longer if you keep it wrapped up for about 45 minutes.
I bought mine Feb 06 and I never had any problems with it. One night I was playing Forza 2 and then turned it off. I came back 1 hour later and.....3 red lights. The problem is that while you may never have problems with your console one day it mightjust break without warning. At least they're fixing them for free now. Note mine was manufactured in 05 soit was a tickingtimebomb from day 1.
