so i'm hearing all these 360's have problems, and i'm wondering is EVERY 360 owner goig to see the red lights of death? or is there a possibility in every system that it will not fail like the others? i got my 360 early febuarary and i'm just scared it might give up on me. i turn it on, playing games, hesitant on clicking the power button, and scared the red lights might show up. o_o. so what now? should i wait till it gives up on me or should i stop worrying since there is a likelyhood it can survive? and thanks for reading this for i am concered :?
Most will not fail. The system as a whole has a higher failer rate that other consoles but the odds are still WAY in your favor that it wont fail. Ive got 2, one i bought at launch and an Elite when it came out a few months ago, and ive never had a single problem with either one. No red lights, no disk read errors, nothing.
I bought mine Feb 06 and I never had any problems with it. One night I was playing Forza 2 and then turned it off. I came back 1 hour later and.....3 red lights. The problem is that while you may never have problems with your console one day it mightjust break without warning. At least they're fixing them for free now. Note mine was manufactured in 05 soit was a tickingtimebomb from day 1.

truth is most prolly wont fail, the reason you hear about it so much is because there are so many people that have a 360. and you know the more people to have one, the more you will hear about some getting the ring of death
It probably wont fail on you, but incase it does this will reasure you, MS has now put a 3 year warrenty on every consol and soon the problem will be completly fixed.
The system is solid if you take care of it. You don't put it on the floor because vibrations damage the hardware inside. You don't put any ventilation accesories. Also you keep the back area clear so that air can flow cooly. If anything I got one with a bum hard drive but it was replaced instantly at Circuit City. Then I just returned the 2nd one I got because I wasn't happy with it 100%. I prefer PC. It's a great system so don't worry so much. If you take care of it you will be fine. Also you're getting 3 year warranty from your date of purchase from Microsoft which covers shipping fee's and all repair fee's.
