@yukushi: open world works for some games. imo, typically fps games should be linear which makes it more exciting. there are some exceptions but not too many; ie. Far Cry, Metro. tbh, never thought any of the sniper games were any good.
Read somewhere else that the two ex-directors were making the movie more like an improvisation just like their other movie Jump Street which didn't jive with LucasFilms head honchos. tbh, most of the blame should be placed on whoever hired these guys in the first place. Apparently they didn't do their due diligence when hiring a director.
@muppetbabymastr: Budget. Investors. Shareholders. Filming is almost done, already spent a boat load of money. It appears the Disney folks didn't quite do a thorough due diligence on the duo directors before hiring them.
I never cared for mods in GTA but considering mod players are probably the most active players in GTA, I would assume they also represent a large chunk of the GTA Online audience as well.
