@PurpleMan5000: more games will be added. If anything, just pay the $5 and give the games a try. Who knows maybe you'll like them so much you'll buy the new iterations. If not, go ahead and cancel. You can come back whenever you wish. I'd urge anyone who has $5 to just give it a try.

@edwardecl: I agree. There will never be a point where there will be a console more powerful than some PC out there. But the point of the console isn't to outperform a PC, but to offer convenience and enjoyment. And for millions of people, convenience isn't spending 1,000-2,000, but instead, spending 400-500 at once and managing the spending from there.

We can't forget that the X1 has yet to launch in many markets. Let's just wait and see.

@freedomfreak: really? I mean, you don't keep using Internet after you stop paying do you? It's a subscription service. It should come at no surprise. Good thing being, from everything I've read, you can keep the download data even without the service. So, maybe one month you decide to stop paying the $5, and 3 months later you want to pick it back up. It's as simple as paying and playing. The download seems to only be a one-time thing.

A fair point that's brought up by PC gamers is the sheer cheapness of many games available on PC. But to be honest, gamers are very capable of selling/lending their games for a price, or just trade them in for some good store credit. If a gamer is ambitious enough, they can honestly make back a good 90% of their money spent through selling on amazon or eBay. I'd the average gamer can finish a game in a week or two, which is enough to enjoy a game, but not long enough that you'd need to sell it at a $20 loss.

I realize a minority of gamers would even capitalize on this market, but at the same time, not all PC gamers drop $2000 or buy 4K monitors. If one extreme can be used to point out the superiority of PC, then another extreme can be used to exemplify the capabilities of consoles gaming.

Anyone feeling ripped off by the MCC is just a cheapskate. You don't have to like the series to understand a good deal. 4 highly praised games, two of them being remakes and one of them extremely recent, along with all of their DLC for free. This is an amazing price, and I enjoy how they went about allowing us to select whichever story mission we wanted.

The thing about games appearing on Microsoft consoles and a microsoft owned software is that Micrsoft gets a cut of the profit no matter how you look at it. So a game appearing on PC makes a great deal of sense.

With that mindset, nobody should buy a new car until they can start flying or running on clean energy. Technological advances happen in small, incremental steps, with each step building on top of the other. These news systems offer more power, an ease of us, new games operatic at better resolutions with lower weight times, and more multiplayer options. Most importantly, our purchases of them fuel the market so that technology can KEEP advancing and so you can eventually get that huge, monumental, proclaim-it-to-the-mountains advances.

While we're at it, why even have the PS4? Why doesn't everyone just get a PC?

The main reasons people here state for picking the PS4:

1) visuals: well, the PC does ps4 level visuals and then some.

2) Exclusives: PC has a ton a of games NOT on the Ps4. Yes they're on the X1 too, but they aren't on the Ps4, making it the excluded gaming system.

Honestly, it comes down to appeal. What exclusives you like more, which community you like more, and what options you like more. I like the X1s controller, I've made some great friends on live, and I like the direction it's heading in at the moment. I like many of its games coming out, and I feel microsoft is in a great position to purchase studios and developers.
