Back around the mid time of the Wii, when Nintendo mentioned that they were going to begin diversifying and investing in health equipment, and the epic failure of the wii heart monitor flunked so bad it never came to market, at that time they decided to invest in a private medical research company with cutting edge tech the claimed they were only a few years away from curing cancer. Its speculated that part of the reason for the refocus and redistribution of funds was the failing health of the previous president, Iwata. However, given the Japanese culture sensitivities, no one would come out and actually ask him about it. Needless to say, the miracle cure never surfaced. In its place a whirlpool like cash drain that left Nintendo scrambling. They've been covering up to their investors ever since.
Guys, I just got of the phone with the President of Nintendo. Basically Nintendo has been in lockdown mode since the "supposed" presentation of the Switch. The truth is, they got hacked. The video and information leaked in the form of a "presentation" was a cleverly constructed hit piece to discourage gamers from considering a purchase of Nintendo switch or anything associated with it. While Nintendo has yet to determine who was behind the Nefarious operation, they assured me in no uncertain terms that 99 percent of the information contained wherewithin was false. They also let me know they are looking into both Sony and Microsoft and their international ties, as the hack was traced back to an ip address located in St Petersburg, Russia.
The Nintendo president also filled me in on the true nature of the switch so that this false news could be put to rest once and for all:
It is equal in powerful to 2 PS4 Pros put together.
It comes with 2tb internal memory.
It has a 10 hour battery life minimum.
While the Zelda video showcased was indeed created by Nintendo, it was more or less a tech demo. The real game coming out has a fidelity that, and I quote them "makes uncharted 4 look like an 8-bit game."
The price of the controllers is still 50 dollars. They said it was an obvious lie that they would charge 80 bucks for something like that.
The price will be 199, and 250 if you buy the Zelda bundle.
The screen, which the presentation said was 720p, is actually capable of outputting 4k, though they said most of their games will not run this way because it cuts the batter life to a mere 7 and 1/2 hours.

This is more a privacy concern to me then anything else. Facebook is, like Google, an information company. I don't trust them. I'm sure that there will be amazing games for the rift still, but Facebook is going to get something out of it. They want to know everything about you as it is. Man, this world is getting scary. Especially with them in bed with the NSA. I've lost most of my interest in the rift now.
i almost wish naughty dog would do a first person shooter, just to show people how to make one and tell a story well. the last great story driven fps was episode 2 imho
