I have to admit, I felt completely disoriented through much of the beginning of KH2 and felt pressured to buy KH:Chain of Memories for the gameboy (I resisted however).  I wouldn't have been half as annoyed if there was a version of Chain of Memories for the PS2.  I've just never liked RPGs on the Gameboy.

However, I think this post goes a bit too far.  Sure I'm annoyed at the business model Square is using, but at the same time I recognize that due to inflation and increased production costs, $60 per game just isn't a whole lot of margin, even for a best-seller like FF games tend to always be.  You're seeing the evolution of the gaming model.  Some companies are following the episodic content model like Guildwars.  FF13 seems to be attempting that.  They've tried the subscription service in FF11 like EQ, but that didn't work out too well for them, especially with Sony's lackluster support (dumping the hard drive support on all new PS2's shortly after the release of FF11).  If the episodic content idea fails them, I'm afraid you're going to start having to shell out $80-$100 to get your FF-fix.  It just isn't cheap to make these games for the newer technology anymore.  At least with the episodic content, you can choose what not to play...

I'm gonna have to go with Cloud for simple staying power.  Nayru is great, but hearts are so much harder to come by compared to potions, hi-potions, and cure materia.
