@Biglabron: then do explain the relevance. Just by using the words slavery and relevance in the same sentence as selling game keys, does not make them relevant. So please spell this out a bit. I am actually curious on the connection you are trying to make.
@SerOlmy: can you provide a source of these blanketbans of gmg key ranges by steam and origin? I am not saying that they have not banned fraudulent keys before, but you are heavily insinuating that we have seen gmg get hit by this specifically. So can you provide proof of this "commonly known" situation where waves of gmg customers have had their keys banned by steam and origin?
@Evenios: in the same way that bargainmart is selling Samsung tvs they got a cheap truck full of because Sleepcountrys massive "free TV with every bed" sale didn't sellout as intended
@Biglabron: wow, OK. I wouldn't have started with putting it on the same shelf as slavery. Bit of a reach...but I guess you have a valid compa.......nope. Agree with gmg or not, your choice. But throwing it in with slavery?
"Because consumers don't trust them. They're fully within their legal rights not to disclose, but they're going to suffer the consequences of not disclosing."
If you want to lose out on something because of that, so be it. I trust them, as do the others who use their service again and again.
"But did they get the full compensation? Because most of these bulk key buys are from markets where the price was lower, then resold to other countries."
If the key was sold by them, they got the exact amount of compensation they wanted for it.
"Who cares that the plastic wrap on your toy is already torn, the toy's still fine, right?"
while the trust thing is a valid opinion that you have every right in making, this is just talking out your butt. Comparing a digital Key to the wear and tear of a tangible product. (Its not like a used DVD based game all scratched up)
"Good for you. But don't come whining when you get a bogus key."
Has not happened yet in my dozens of purchases. Neither to anyone I know. But if it did, i have full confidence in having it taken care of directly with GMG. Much in the same way as any other channel of digital distribution that has the chance having issues when purchasing.
Don't use it if you don't like it. That is up to you. Its a legitimate business that offers a great service with great customer service. I would recommend it to anyone. I love getting new release games with a 20% off coupon on a preorder. I love older titles when they are deeply discounted.
GMG, Steam sales, Humble Bundle, GOG sales, even Origin sales. I don't exclusively shop at GMG, as they dont always have the best deal. But when i want a game, i go to whats cheapest. And when its GMG i go through them.
If its a legit key from the developer, there is no circumvention. As long as the developer received their compensation for that key, what does it matter how many times it changed hands or how good of a deal the final redeemer gets. That particular key has already been paid for.
