9? I finished it after two weeks. Sure, I'd give it a 9, if I haven't played any AC games from the III, but since I did play all of the main ones, I gave it a 5. It's the same story since the 4th - the Templars have or know where a Peace of Eden is and the Assassins want it. There is always on one point or another Juno's lover mentioned or he appears (you know, the Sage), and in the end, we see how Assassins strife in the past, while in the modern day they get their assess kicked by Abstergo industry. The story line is forgettible at best and terrible at worst, because it is the same rehashed story since the 4th. The modern day plot does not go any further for 6 games in a row. I say, give it a rest. A Batman's grapling hook wont save your game...
@hoyholyhoy: It's not really milking, if they release Witcher games somewhat cardinally different and with generally long time table from the last game release (e.g. Witcher, Witcher II and III are cardinally different from one another, and their term of release is 2007, 2011 and 2015) (the generally long time-table helps the players to not feel like we have done this and that already before. Like in AC games).
@phattuna: If it has been a couple of years since you played any AC game, then, yes, it's superb, but if it's not and you freshly remember the gameplay and the story of all six games after the III, then no, it's a freaking bore fest with a story that does not progress for the past 6 games.
@diggergig: And it has nothing to do with Cartels, just like this has nothing to do with Syndicates. Except of course for Jacob's terorism spree over London...
I started to play AC: Syndicate, hoping that it would contain some sort of a meaningful story like from 2 too 3. In sequeance 4, after liberating 4 areas of London from Templar Control and doing the missions, I still don't understand what they are fighting for (well, besides the obvious "evil templars have the hocus pocus and we need it").
EDIT: also, the graphics look the same as Unity and, yet, the game forces me to play on "lowest" settings (good thing it's not 1980s - 2010ish - no pixels). Well, it's a good thing that even on lowest setting the graphics look like the highest on Black Flag or what evs.
@ladymulti: You know what would make a good comedic "horror" video-game (that would rival Stubs: The Zombie? ) - Dead Snow and Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead video games. Now that would be epic.
Actually, neither of the new so called "horror" films might be good material for "horror" video-games. Except, if you think that a hack-and-slash movie is to be considered horror genre (with a couple of jump scare sequences that are getting old really fast) material that is worthy to be converted into a video-game (or any other platform of entertainment).
@Zjarcal: Yep, I mean, I thought they will have some sort of closure together, like: "So sorry I bailed on you. I did what I thought was right, it's not what you think. Let me make it up to you. Let's go together to stop the monster bla bla bla". And all we've got was: "sorry I betrayed you, here's the money. See ya". Also, **** the money when I've bought the mystery vault hunter. I was like: "Oh... my... God... Jenice" (those who watched Friends understand), What a fucking waste of money.
