Nintendo did have a pretty good E3 this year. I loved treehouse live and smash bros invitational. But whenever someone talks about ''winning'' E3 I always think of this...

It's pretty pointless, at least in my opinion. What exactly do these companies get for winning?

Well since many people were wondering if Nintendo would give up on the Wii-U , many potential owners were sitting on the fence. As far as what do they have to gain? Apparently Nintendo has gained sold consoles, positive buzz in both the gaming community and overall media to help out their cause.

So sales (something tangible) and improved perception from the public is nothing to scoff at.

Eurogamer sony derangement drives them to insanity.

I suppose you're name calling because you have a good argument to back up your opinions.

Out of the big three Nintendo is the ONLY company that got where it is by making it OWN games and continues to do so to much critical and fan acclaim.

The majority of games that Sony and MS both showed were multiplats, showing that they're very good at purchasing other studios games, EA and Ubisoft games reign supreme there.

Based simply on exclusives and the way they showcased them, Nintendo knocked it out of the park.

It's counter-productive for the industry to have to rely on consoles which are so weak they can barely output anything in 1080p to BEGIN the generation.

1080p is the standard definition of TV's these days, the fact they can't do this with ease or regularity is pathetic. It's one of the reasons I just hooked my PC up to my HDTV. I do plan on eventually getting a PS4 though, whenever exclusives I care about arise.

Jayson it's ridiculous to quote new prices as a used copy will contain identical software, which is what is being purchased on the eshop. I will say the game choices are good for those who didn't get in on the ambassador program.

In regards to downloaded games vs physical games

As far as carts vs downloaded life span, that's a rather moot point as the limiting factor (for how long the product can be enjoyed) would be the system's life span not the software. ROM in the cart is just like the ROM on board of the system, except that the cart isn't filled with mechanical parts like the system/console is (guess which will likely fail first?).

Perfect copy my ass, digital data is digital data whether it's loaded from a cartridge or internal storage. Likewise both the cartridge and internal storage are susceptible to data corruption except I'd argue it would be more likely to occur with data residing in the internal storage, the cart may very well fail but again I'd worry more about the system failing first. Point is worrying about the software becoming corrupt should be very low of the list of comparing downloaded games vs physical games.

It would be one thing if Nintendo allowed games on an individual's account to be played on any Nintendo product, then I could see the argument for downloaded games' longevity. As it currently stands if my software is locked to a specific console then I don't see that game/license having a life span beyond said console. Physical games at this point aren't tied to a specific system-ID, so as it stands their life span is of little concern.

Convenience, less plastic waste, takes up less room physically are all good points in favor digital. The "perfect" copy argument is alright at best.

I think they're working on a more integrated system, we already have the Nintendo ID's with the Wii-U and 3DS linked. Also they're talking about making infrastructure the same moving forward, so that this is the last time they have to bother emulating all of these VC games. I'm not sure what it means for us going forward, if we'll get to keep our games for next gen or not, but it might be .99 cents to upgrade to the next consoles VC.

It's not too bad if that is what it is, as long as it's the last time, but they're slowly working towards it. I know all the arcade games for XBOX Live on 360 don't play on XboxOne (I think anyway) and at least the WiiU and 3DS have backward compatibility, something neither the One nor the PS4 have.

Nintendo has a way to go to make it seamless, and hopefully give us some cross platform play, but I think they're at least working on it now.

The games like VolleyBall and Ice Hockey will be featured in NES Remix 2. They hope they sell from that.

I hope they start releasing many, many better VC games instead.

I feel all though it's a little over priced... to me it will come down to the graphics. Are these going to be adjusted to full screen TV"s, or will they be stretched / panels on the left/right. I give nintendo for getting more stuff out there though. Wouldn't mind some sort of bundle deal either. If a little cheaper i'd check out a few more of these games.

Any good Zelda GBA games?

Minish Cap was great. Also, I may be wrong but I thought I read something about deals on these games. Something like, buy 1 and get the next (maybe 2?) a buck off?

@starwolf474: Of the Super Metroid style games, Fusion is the most "linear" of the ones I've played with more defined areas.. There is some backtracking though. It's a very good game.

I'm so pumped for Golden Sun. For whatever reason I've been thinking about it lately and how I hoped it would get released on a VC soon. Never got a chance to play it.

I already have Fusion on my GBA so I don't know if I'll get it on the VC as well or not...

Golden Sun is great man, you'll love it.
