Jayson it's ridiculous to quote new prices as a used copy will contain identical software, which is what is being purchased on the eshop. I will say the game choices are good for those who didn't get in on the ambassador program.
In regards to downloaded games vs physical games
As far as carts vs downloaded life span, that's a rather moot point as the limiting factor (for how long the product can be enjoyed) would be the system's life span not the software. ROM in the cart is just like the ROM on board of the system, except that the cart isn't filled with mechanical parts like the system/console is (guess which will likely fail first?).
Perfect copy my ass, digital data is digital data whether it's loaded from a cartridge or internal storage. Likewise both the cartridge and internal storage are susceptible to data corruption except I'd argue it would be more likely to occur with data residing in the internal storage, the cart may very well fail but again I'd worry more about the system failing first. Point is worrying about the software becoming corrupt should be very low of the list of comparing downloaded games vs physical games.
It would be one thing if Nintendo allowed games on an individual's account to be played on any Nintendo product, then I could see the argument for downloaded games' longevity. As it currently stands if my software is locked to a specific console then I don't see that game/license having a life span beyond said console. Physical games at this point aren't tied to a specific system-ID, so as it stands their life span is of little concern.
Convenience, less plastic waste, takes up less room physically are all good points in favor digital. The "perfect" copy argument is alright at best.
