reviews sites like gamespot don't need to be directly paid for good reviews. they already have incentive to give good reviews to high budget games, since those are the game companies that can afford to pay for more advertising space. good reviews are just another way to attract more advertising money.
the problem is gamespot doesn't have any standards to what the review number means. imagine if teachers gave you A or B with different % standards. to one teacher 80% is A, while another teacher thinks 90% is A. it's messed up.
gamespot's new 60 FPS video player is great. but still crappy video compression quality, even in HD. and no way to download the video to hard drive anymore. :(
