@Monsterkillah: I agree completely with @ltjohnnyrico. You would have to be moronic to believe a tweet put out by a gaming company. In fact, the only people who knew about this tweet first are the people who follow @CallofDuty. Anyone else got it off a retweet or an internet news report such as was done be Gamespot. By the time any real journalistic organization got involved to check the facts, the Call of Duty account announced that it was fake and part of a promotion for there new upcoming game. I don't think that a place such as mentioned in the tweet "North bank of the Singapore Marina" even really exists. I sure don't think that it does.

@bigrob007: Using "War of the Worlds" is a very very bad example. Considering that the only form of getting news out to people in that era were print media and radio. Under those circumstances, yes people would panic. There are thousands of news outlets today in many forms. No one should be scared of a Call of Duty twitter account. And if they were, I can put a pretty good label on those folks: Morons.

@Xirtahm: Um, no. I don't underestimate the stupidity of people. That is exactly why I wrote it. I quote myself: "You would have to be a moron of the highest order to believe it."
