@Suaron_x There's also the Skyrim factor. Both games were released within the same season. Reckoning would have done better if it was timed differently.

This would be perfect! ...that's an understatement.

I skipped Skyrim and got my epic-open-fantasy fix with Reckoning:KoA,

...now I know why.

If there's no story, it better at least have a solid premise to drive the game. Some genres can get away with less, yet even a sandbox game needs something to care about more than gear & grinding.

I think for a AAA game to be a AAA game, it needs to be a complete package. The balance between story or premise can be debatable, yet to me that includes some form of hero/villain, and a sense of the world the fight is taking place in.

With all the money the kickstarter raised, I wonder if the company took it upon themselves to actually get specific games made on their own. I expect this to get games specifically for the tv/controller.

A lot of the comparisons to tablets may be accurate at the moment. Yet why wouldn't that change after people get there hands on it.

Whats neat is that every console is it's own dev-kit, it opens a lot of doors if noobs are willing to learn a few things in the process. I wanna get one as a toy that may fold into larger projects.

Awesome!

Good timing for this to be announced, the market is thirsty for something just a bit different.

And who doesn't want to explore the ocean via a dolphin?

@silvergol @SciFiCat What came first, the radio-sets---or radio stations. What came first TV-boxes---or tv stations. Not everything happens all at once.

@Barrakas21 Sooo, then.

I'm gonna get one of these to tinker with, and see what software I can put on it. I may even make a game that's substandard in it's genre, but it will look really good. I'm not a programmer, but content is more my background..

Maybe we could play an on-line, which one are you looking forward to on the Ouya?

Bloody-hell, that's a lot of mouths to feed.

This will be an interesting case study of the free-to-play model that Ouya is based on.

It's hard to mess with a "classic". Castlevania had me wary up until seeing just a bit more of it. It really was done well. I'm sure mario fans will think the same of the next mario.

It's all about target markets...sometimes it's hard to admit that one is not in that target anymore.

I think a spin-off or brand new IP would allow the graces some developers are looking for.

(Of course some would cry a different kind of foul....there are way too many markets to please.) Nintendo is just doing what they want in this case, which is a pretty gutsy move.
