Pretentious critique? Check.

Condescending tone? Check.

Another article that fits right at home on what Gamespot has become. The only thing that would make this more representative of this site is an imagined grievance about the game not being politically correct enough for the author. Although I would bet money that will be forthcoming.

I can't stop playing the multiplayer (even though I play it literally sitting in front of a TV). I'd definitely recommend this game to anyone.

@moriwenne That's fine, but I think the GTA review is fairly representative of the bizarre cultural self-righteousness that characterizes gamespot now.

The weekly podcast generally consists of the staff expressing outrage at anything they, in their narrow politically correct worldview, perceive as offensive. Furthermore, the tone suggests that anyone who disagrees with them is guilty of some sort of grave moral shortcoming.

Gamespot has become incredibly self-righteous over the past few years. I suppose having a segment to mock their viewers' lack of sophistication and muse about no longer "contributing" to it is the logical next step.
