Understand what? Johnneh not being able to have any kind of discourse about it because who the hell wants to jump into a minefield of politically correct and open a can of worms. This feedbackula may as well of been Johnneh stood there with his hands over his ears yelling "IM NOT LISTENINGGG"
@blair345 @electroban Yeah I do get it, a lot of mad kids decided to leave some angry words on an internet forum. Suddenly it's from hence forth known as "hate speech". I don't know what it is these days but the level of gaping mangina is huge.
If you're going to discredit a game using personal bias then expect your readership to question that bias and the validity of using it to score a game that glorifies in the lowest common denominator.
It looks like Johnneh didn't have the stones to wade through some of the valid comments and just focussed on telling everyone how bad the community is. I also believe that there was no other way this show could of gone down. The review is crying about the treatment of women in a game that is largely built around a mechanic of running people over.
Is it your first time on the interwebz Johnneh? Is the gamespot community that you are paid to entertain not good enough for you?
I think if you're going to slash marks off a score in the name of feminism....where do you stop? Do you get a politically correct list that you have to go down checking to make sure each marginalised demographic gets accurate portrayals in a video game in order to be worthy of praise?
P.S. - If you start banning everyone on gamespot that is a considered "jerk" then you may find at least 70% of your user base is going to drop off.
It's our bias that makes us people, and not robots. Unfortunately as mankind we haven't developed a robot to write reviews on games with no bias - and if we did every review would read the same checking down x list of criteria. #dealwithit
Voice actors "speak out" you know that is a pretty loaded phrase, generally its about when someone is complaining or blowing the whistle on something or someone. But really it's just them talking about how great their jobs are?
What kills me most is that this guy JJ is not just in charge of Star Trek (which I believe to be very inferior releases) he's now also in charge of Star Wars - granted it'll be better than that travesty George Lucas put out but still... he's basically in charge of all future big budget sci fi movies - and if you don't like his style then you're out of luck.
At the end of the day the games' a piece of art, you don't go to an art gallery, see a picture of a naked woman and go; that's sexist!
He's the creator of the game, if you don't like the creation don't buy it, you don't need to cry about the artistic direction this one dude has decided to go in.
But yeah sexism, yeah, go you guys, shoot those easy targets. Cowards.
