[QUOTE="eaglesfan534"]wow........................................................................................that really helped...........alot................u work for sony or somthing cause u know quite a bit lolcodezer0Sorry, but your writing doesn't exactly indicate if you were trying to be sarcastic. Thus, my reply will assume that you were being genuine. No, I do not work for sony, but having as many as I've owned fail on me, I've had enough time to get "under the hood" of at least a couple systems and accessories over the years to try and have a better understanding why some of them were just SO BAD for me. And I suppose I have a really long memory about stuff like this, too.
[QUOTE="railroberto2007"]I BOUGHT A 60 GIG so i could play my ps2 games then after a month i sold all my ps2 games on ebay so i could buy more ps3 games. honestly i dont see the point. and hey if you got ps2 games shouldnt you already have a ps2?codezer0I can easily name a few reasons: - PS2 games run on a BC ps3 look better than those run on a PS2 using the same video connection and same display. I have tested this myself with both a Dell LCD HDTV and my Gateway FPD2185W, with both consoles running with Component video cables. The ps3's upscaling (especially now) simply makes playing those old games on the new system worth it. - PS2's are unreliable pieces of **** It took me having to get mine chipped and additional reinforcement to have one that remained good even after the initial 90 days of warranty that Sony only provided for their systems. - The slim PStwo has incomplete BC for PS1 games and even fails with some PS2 games (and chances are I'll probably have run into one of said incompatible games with my library). This is because Sony decided it didn't want to make a ps2 with the PS1 CPU in there either and then used software emulation plus an overclocked EE+GS in the PStwo to try and make up the performance parity. Problem with that is that PS1 games that really tapped into the consoles' resources became buggy or unplayable, and those ps2 games that used the optional features of the original design (e.g. relegating the PS1 CPU and RAM for more rudimentary functionality and freeing up resources for the main EE+GS chips) were now trying to reference a chip that no longer existed. You think THAT was going to work problem-free? - The slim PStwo requires a specialized modchip + significant case and PCB modifications in order to employ hard drive functionality the standard "fatty" PS2's enjoyed for years. - THERE ARE STILL new ps2 games being made. And since Sony recently dropped the licensing fee for publishing/making PS2 games (you still need to buy their SDK for it, which is ironically more expensive than the ps3 SDK), that means there will still be new titles available for the console for years to come, and probably a ****load of homebrew that may make some commercial titles look weak. - There are plenty of great games that can still be sold that consumers would lose out on by buying a no-BC ps3. In the strictest business sense, Sony has only shot themselves in the foot and helped to infuriate and confuse consumers who would have wanted a ps3 by removing BC. wow........................................................................................that really helped...........alot................u work for sony or somthing cause u know quite a bit lol
