Did I detect a hint of incredulity in Van Ord's face when Levine initially said that his new game makes no compromises?

Crysis 1 was better because it was a big open sandbox, like Far Cry before it. Once they dropped that model, the series lost a huge amount of its appeal.

It's GERalt, not JERalt. Exciting news, though.

Gamespot AU are even more entertaining than the Gerstmann era folks used to be at the US site.

I live in an area where the only broadband option is AT&T, which has a bandwidth cap of 250GB/month. So I'm not sure that the PS4 is not going to cater to me personally with these new stream-heavy features. Boy, I sure miss the Fios at my last place. :( Oh well, perhaps I'll just spend the money on a badass video card for my trusty PC instead.

Also the Brothers in Arms games were fantastic. Best WW2 games ever made imo.

My point was that the: "There's no benefit to using the Xbox 360 to watch Netflix over the PlayStation 3" comment was incorrect. Your point was that Kinect sucks, LIVE and Microsoft in general, suck.

I never said I think LIVE should cost money. I corrected a factual innacuracy in the article. For what it's worth, I too hope LIVE is free next gen.

And since you mentioned money, as a technology enthusiast, I will gladly pay money to try new alternative interface devices, regardless of their hardcore cred or longevity.

You don't have to use the suggestions list... at the dashboard, you can say, "Xbox, Bing: NAME OF SHOW" and blam, it pops up, shows you if it's on Netflix, and you can start watching it immediately. I love it. You can live without it, but it's a great feature that PS3 users would embrace with open arms were it made available to them.

"There's no benefit to using the Xbox 360 to watch Netflix over the PlayStation 3"

This is false. With Kinect you can search for the movie you want with your voice 5 seconds after booting up your console. It's really nice not to have to root around for the film you want to watch or just as a method of quickly checking to see if one of your favorites is available on Netfilx. You can also fast forward and rewind with extraordinary percision lacking on the other consoles using the gesture commands. I also enjoy being able to pause and rewind scenes when I'm not near the remote via the voice commands. This is great when you are in the kitchen making dinner or something and you missed a line of dialogue.

These features are why the Xbox is still my go-to source for Netflix. Not a huge deal, but certainly there are benefits on the Xbox side of things regarding Netflix use. Is that worth $5/month? For me, the answer is yes. Clearly, Microsoft has used at least a portion of the fees to improve their services, which continue to get better and better. I wish it were free, but can handle the expendeture based on the return I get for my investment.
