@sixsixtrample: while I agree with the anger towards all of these micro transactions, the games need to make their budget back somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if this game cost them 100-125 million to produce and market the game. And that may be a conservative number. The Witcher 3 cost over 80 million, and the Old Republic and GTA 5 iare rumored to have cost over 200 million. GMes should probably cost $99 each. Maybe a solution would be a base game for $70 and a complete game with everything on disk for $100. And of course make all changes and additions cosmetic without any tactical or play advantages.
Not going to lie, this trailer has killed my interest in the game altogether. I originally purchased a PS3 just for the last of us, and have yet to finish it (bought it on launch day...lol). Not because it's a bad game, but with a fa,pmily...it's hard to find time. This game does seems to be totally different. I really don't care for the gratuitous violence in many of these games. I thought since I liked Uncharted, that I would love The Last of Us...as I love post-apocalyptic settings. But is all of the gore and themes really necessary? I don't think so. I have seen many gory movies in my life, it I have to say the part where they begin breaking her arms with a hammer really disturbed me. I would be the first to say that video games don't cause normal kids to do heinous acts, but I do believe things like this give ideas to unbalanced individuals. I guess I'm just old and miss the old days of Super Mario Brothers. I wonder if the darker tone of Naughty Dog games is what created the tension between Amy Hennig and Neil Druckman?
@jinzo9988: we have very similar taste. I prefer final fantasy 2 (4) over 3 (6) as well. That is my favorite Final Fantasy game (if anyone doesn't agree...then they are a spooky Bard). And I had forgotten about killer instinct, Harvest Moon, and Tetris Attack.
Other than Final Fantasy 2 and NBA Jam, I don't miss any of these games on this list. I am not really thrilled with the selection for the snes min though. I like the selection on my nes classic 100x better. Out of the 21 games, I like about 8 of them. Where is DKC 2 & 3? How about Super MARIO All Stars? The sSuper Star Wars series was what I was most looking forward to, but no go there either. A football game would have been nice. Sim City? Vegas Stakes?
When I opened my Nes, I couldn't decide what to play first. I won't have as much difficulty with this one. I don't even care for MARIO kart snes. It was fun back in the day, but it hasn't aged well.
@valhallaoutcast: forgot about the hacking. If you read the statement closely it says "Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year,". Maybe they will release a new one for Christmas that is secure? If not, I say f$&k Nintendo! I have been one of their biggest fans for over 30 years, but this is beyond asinine. I already have one, but there are many that want one that will never get it. I have spent my last dime on Nintendo crap!
@merwanor: just the opposite of me. I know I am in the minority, but I don't really care for Zelda games. The only two I ever liked were the original and Wind Waker. Twilight Princess had potential, but as soon as I had to play as a wolf, I quit and never played it again. For me, the side scrolling Mario games, Mario golf, Mario kart, Mario party, etc. are the real draw for me.
Having said that, I did watch my son play this game and it does look very fun (if you are into these type of games). I'm not a big fan of the graphic style, but my son absolutely loves it.
