Xbox One

I don't understand why TC doesn't like the interface or the Kinect honestly. I mean honestly, are the commands hard to learn or something? It's fairly straight forward and simply. The interface is basically the 360's except simplified and it works perfectly with the Kinect which might I add, is fantastic to use. It's probably the best thing about the X1. It makes things faster and it feels cool using it. And saying its a gimmick and clunky is as far from truthful as possible. Everyone I've spoken to about the X1 has all said and agreed that their kinects have worked perfectly fine about 95% of the time aside from the occasional mispronunciation which is rare.

And also I would like to know, which system did you prefer before you tried either of them? And which did you play first before you made your opinion? Because it sounds to me like we've got a bad case of Sony fanboyism over here even if you said you aren't one. Because let's be honest here, most of the Sony fanboys of this gen are all past 360 owners who decided to jump ship but they deny it most of the time so you aren't anything special with that.

Most of the gaming industry's consumers are casual gamers. No one is going to buy a Steam based console unless it meets 2 major criterias.

1) It has to be fairly cheap compared to the rest and reliable

2) It needs big mainstream gaming titles ex: Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, NBA2K/NCAA/Madden games

Sony and Microsoft have deals with publishers and developers which cover both of those fields and people are so used to the Xbox and Playstation brands that it would be unlikely to change as dramatically as you'd think. The only people aware of how Steam actually is are the people who use it. Outside of that, not many people care in terms of the general populace.

Also Valve didn't announce the Steam Machine until AFTER E3 so people who already invested funds into the X1 and PS4 have already spent it leaving a smaller demographic of people who would possibly buy the Steam Machine. And lets also add that most people outside of Steam's own community are even aware of the Steam Machine so the lack of publicity to it wouldn't allow for much of a takeover either.

And to throw onto all of this, Sony and Microsoft are incredibly wealthy (Especially Microsoft) and wouldn't be stopped simply by the addition of one other console into the competition.

TC, you're calling the console inferior in every way, when it honestly isn't at all. Its slightly underpowered in terms of hardware specs, but the actual software is lightyears ahead and better than the PS4. Both consoles are pretty much the same but the X1 just has more features and options. And you can't say it doesn't when it in fact does. The kinect also makes it much nicer and adds a lot more to it, something the PS4 cant, and wont ever, be able to replicate the same way simply because its too advanced in itself for the type of console the PS4 is.

And before you fanboys flip out over me calling the X1 advanced, let me explain. The PS4 is geared towards gaming, so a device like the Kinect serves little purpose for it due to its limited features outside of just gaming. The X1 allows you to do a variety of stuff such as snapping apps, switching to TV, or the internet, and games. The Kinect enhances that flow to the fullest and its something that can only work on the X1 because of it's software. And like I said before, the PS4's software is not nearly as good as the X1's. You all can say it is all you want, but Microsoft is mainly software company, they specialize in it. Their's is better hands down.

A lot of people may be saying TitanFall is "Just CoD with mechs", but the thing is, there hasn't been a REALLY good mech styled game in awhile. And personally as a fan of mechs, this game looks fantastic and I know I'm not the only one excited for that aspect.

So I'm trying to figure out what icon pack is being used in this picture:

The actual UI is a separate entity as a part of UCCW, but the icons are not. If anyone could help me out in finding what icons these are, it would be greatly appreciated.

I like both of these directors but I kinda don't see them as that easily comparable. Both have their own unique styles, especially Tarantino, so comparing him alone to anyone else is difficult.

But if I had to pick the best out of the two in my own opinion, probably Nolan due to his overall filmography.

They both have their own strong points and are amazing directors, but like I said, comparing them is a challenge.

Ok so another question I have in regards to the PS4 is if it will have a "Party Chat" style of system. On Xbox, this is probably one of the biggest things going for it. You don't have to go into game chat, you can talk to friends playing other games, and its incredibly useful.

Does the PS3/PS4 have something like this? Will the PS4 have any type of system like this? And if not, has Sony at least considered it?

Have you been living under a rock or something?

In terms of info on the PS3/PS4, pretty much. I'm an Xbox guy and I've been following the X1 for the most part. I only recently made the choice of looking to the PS4 so now I would like to learn more about it in specific areas.

Its a legitimate question, I simply would like an answer.

@The_Last_Ride: It's not exactly a big deal but I certainly don't want to have something I frequently do on my PS3(play mp3's) removed from it's successor, sure I can play them on my PC or phone but I shouldn't need to. I've set up a bunch of custom playlists on my PS3 and would appreciate that I can use them on my PS4, you know the more powerful, more advanced system. If not then I would then appreciate the ability to use my expensive NAS to transcode my music on the fly into a suitable format however with no DLNA this is not possible. Not good, not at all.

Anyway it looks like an update will fix this problem of mine(and many others) so just lets be thankful it's being investigated at all.

It's not a problem to me personally, i just don't understand why people use it on their console to be honest. But that is just me

Personally I use it for when I'm playing multiplayer or if I'm sitting around and talking to my friends in party chat (On Xbox 360).

It changes things up for me and using my own playlist in a game like Battlefield or CoD really adds to the gameplay for me atleast. In fact, I pretty much ALWAYS play music when I'm playing a mulitplayer game since multiplayer generally lacks any music or anything.

This is great news! Now I just gotta persuade some friends to buy the PS4 over the X1 and I'm pretty much set on this. I am mildly disappointed that TitanFall wont be on PS4 all though, BUT I feel like it'll end up like Mass Effect and we'll get TitanFall 2 in about 2 or 3 years later so it isn't entirely bad.
