I remember back when I waited a few months to pickup Valkyria Chronicles. Came out November '08, I went to pick it up around January/February '09. No Best Buys in the city ever received a shipment. EB/Gamestop told me it had already been discontinued and I'd only be able to get it used, but they'd never seen one traded in. Saw the same thing that summer with the first BlazBlue.

Now I pre-order most games and pick them up the day they come out. I have like a 15 game backlog and I don't care, because for games that aren't AAA titles it feels like you either get them on release day or you don't get them at all.

I'd tell them to take my money but I already gave it to them...

Just remember that if you dislike Gamestop, basically the worst thing you can do to them is go there to buy all your games new, and simply say "no" when they offer you disc protection or whatever.

Meanwhile the PS3 has legit titles coming out into next year, yet the PS4 is still selling...

Wouldn't surprise me if the 360 is still getting used, but it's less impressive when you consider that the majority of that usage over the last number of years is simply the newborn FPS generation who initially came for Halo and are now just using it as an annual CoD/Madden machine. Microsoft has inculcated that part of the user base and they'll hold on to their 360 controllers as long as more Call of Dudebro keeps coming out.
