Did Outlast: Whistleblower set up for a third dlc?
I'm not going to bore you with any yammering so I'll just get straight to the point.
Towards the beginning of the game, after Billy (A.K.A. The Wallrider) goes nuts and starts killing everyone, and right before your first lethal encounter with the naked man-eating guy, You will come to a gate that has a pair of handcuffs attached to a dead security guard. This is when you must find the key to unlock him from the gate and enter. As you walk up to him, you will hear the following voice from some an unknown character named Cooper. "I made it. I... I think it's safe. Can you climb up?" Another character replies, "I'm coming, Cooper. I just have to lock the... There. I'm coming. Hold on."
This conversation stuck out to me. I'm lead to believe this may be part of another dlc! I'm assuming that their story would cross lines with this one, just like how the Whistleblower dlc crossed with the original storyline. I think that you may be able to play as Cooper or the mystery character in the next dlc. The reason to this, the mystery character and Cooper both had objectives. The mystery character had to climb or jump to something/somewhere. and the mystery character was maybe being followed so decided to lock a door. His other objective was to get to Cooper. I think if there is a dlc, you would play as the mystery character because he had two objectives. Or maybe, you get to choose what to do. What I mean by this is, maybe you will have the option to climb up, or stay back and lock the door. Just a thought.
It could e possible that none of this leads to anything, but it looks suspicious. The name, Cooper just seems to be appropriate. It could be that these are just security/scientists finding an escape rout. I think this because the mystery character has keys. This doesn't mean you can't play as one of them or anything. This also doesn't mean they ARE security/scientists. They could have stolen the keys or looted them from a corps.
If this is a dlc, it would be very unique and new to the Outlast storyline. For the first time, you'd have a friend. This gives the game many opportunities. This can also make the game less scary. That problem can be resolved in the next paragraph though. But back on topic. This can open many new opportunities because it would allow cooperative play. For the people who just can't play alone. Wow. Just think about how many sales they would make with THAT. I'd get it! My friends would get it! Here's another though. Instead of Cooperative play, there would be 2 different storylines in one dlc. I'll support this in the next paragraph, along with discussing the less - scary feeling of having a friend in this game.
Resolution to the loneliness feeling being discarded: That would be resolved, but most likely at the cost of excluding Coop. The mystery character or Cooper (Whom ever is the playable character) may be split apart from each other very often. For all we know, Cooper could be the mystery character's father, and they'll stop at nothing from getting together, but something always delays them both from doing so.
This though just popped in my mind. The man-eating dude, we never get to see what happens to him. Could he have been following the two characters? Is that why the mystery character was in such a hurry to lock the door? Am I just desperate for another dlc? Lol,aren't we all? I don't know about you, but I think all of this adds up just perfectly. I'm really curious about what they'll do.
P.S. Red Barrels: If you're reading this, thanks :3
