@Erutan409: Yeah which is a big negative in the console box.

Frankly it has been a LONG time since I've wanted to do ANYTHING online. Multiplayer games are just shit now. FPSs are full of children and lag. Arena shooters offer nothing for me anymore. Just the same shit repeated forever and nothing to show for it.

Most other online games die within a month anyway. After they are crippled by hackers.

Single player all the way. Play your way, when you want and not have to out compete no lifers on Ritalin.

Almost certain this is what happened with Vive and Oculus as well in terms of pre-orders.

Right before they both tanked.

@muzza93: Not really losing money because these are basically rents. If you cancel your membership you lose the games.

The fact you've bought them means you now own those games. So, while it might be that you paid more up front you don't need to maintain PS+ membership to have access to your games.

You can play these PS+ games once a year for the next ten years if you want without paying another penny because you own them. 10 years of PS+ membership is £400. For what is lets not lie about 99% trash.

This is the problem with most people they can only think short term. They are okay saving money now even if it puts more pressure on them later. Then people wonder why they are in debt.

@punksterdaddy: Fair enough.

Sarcasm doesn't really transfer in writing unless you make it blatantly obvious. It reads like you are being serious.

Sarcasm requires a tone of voice. Which writing doesn't have.

Except if all games did that we'd eventually get sick of normal. Just the same way I get sick of zombies, aliens and monsters from time to time.

There is enough room for every topic and genre. Quantic Dream can cover real life. The other developers can cover what they want.

That way there is something for everyone and every mood.

@CrillanK: Yeah and most of the emphasis of that trailer was on the mobile section. We have no idea at all what it will be like to use in the living room.

We've seen Zelda which isn't exactly top end gaming. And Skyrim a five year old game.

There is still a good chance that this thing won't be powerful enough to draw in meaningful third party support. Especially with the other consoles starting to do faster upgrade cycles.

The stocks spiked in July because of Pokemon Go. They then tanked. After that the stock was on a steady upward trend. Until Switch was announced then it tanked 11% in four days.

You are in so much denial it is untrue. I mean one of the articles that you linked seems to think that Youtube views is somehow a good indicator of what people think about the device.

Like the fact people watched a three minute video shows that they care about Nintendo. I watched the trailer as well and couldn't care less if they went bankrupt.

@simplytheebest: The TV is just the start of the extra costs. 4K TVs are still over priced compared to 1080p and considering 4K is overrated you may as well wait for everything to REALLY drop in price.

4K movies are more expensive. You need an over priced console just to get upscaled 4K games and you need to pay more for 4K Netflix memberships that isn't even native 4K.

There aren't LOTS of 4K blu-rays at all. There are a handful, most of which are shit. Yes more or coming but RIGHT NOW the numbers don't justify the cost of the TV.

If you need a TV right now I'd say save several hundred and get a 1080p TV.

When you can get a bunch of 4K blu-rays, a console and a TV for about £500 then I'd say go for it. I'm going to wait another year or two.

If people had even a modicum of patience they'd save themselves hundreds every year but I guess people like to blow their wads early.
