Guess Apple figures that since they're so much bigger than Unity that they can actually get away with these crazy install fees. I don't care for Google either, it's a lose lose in the market but they could really nail Apple with this if they wanted to.
@nicemouse: No they didn't. That's about a year old now and talks more about the virtual console and sales rights. With some justification on why their hardware changed console to console but also why it's starting to look the same.
@gatsbythepig: I'm not saying you should buy this but most people don't own a laptop, and definitely not one capable of playing most games. Plus handhelds are so much easier to take with you. Instead of lugging around a laptop, charger, controller, etc. etc.
@gamerboy100: The issue isn't the emulator itself but a Wii common key contained within that Nintendo holds rights to. If they strip the key it'd most likely be fine but then you'd have to provide your own key from a Wii you own.
The ROMs themselves are also not completely illegal but sharing them is. Obtaining one is a bit of a grey area. Some have won cases on making a backup ROM of a product you own. But most people interested in ROMs and emulators don't own the games they're going to play and just hurt the actual honest folks who do.
Time? It's way past time. That shipped sailed a decade ago. There are very few games I will preorder early in good faith. Zelda, Final Fantasy, maybe the next Dragon Quest but it's a pretty short list. Other games I'll wait until the day before release and check out reviews if I already know I'm probably going to buy it anyway.
Otherwise I can wait. Like with Diablo IV. I know I want to play to it but I also know launch is going to be a hot mess. Why pay for the frustration? Certainly I'm not paying to get in early.
@doubtless1: Which if it was a single player game would be more than enough for a review. This is a live service game now so it needs testing at full load. We'll see over the next 2 weeks how it holds up and if anything is different for it.
@girlusocrazy: Totally agree but the folks over at IGN didn't seem to care because they're "purely" cosmetic. Didn't seem to like people asking why it wasn't a review in progress since the live bits aren't out yet either.
I'm not sure how any site can release a full review before they played through it live and run all of the endgame as it's intended to be played.
I'm curious if sites will re-review once the first season hits and the battle pass is out. Anyone who plays D3 knows the main content is in the seasonal grind and IV won't be any different.
@girlusocrazy: It's a leak because Blizzard didn't want to release the info until launch day. None of the microtransactions or battle pass stuff was in the review copies sent out.
@talonia: Yes it is the same 8bitdo adapter as listed. The Duel Sense does have rumble support. But since I mostly play in docked mode I'm not sure how it compares but so far seems OK. You don't get the cool haptic trigger stuff like you would on PS5. Aiming with motion controls does work, had to enable it to try since I don't like it and wasn't sure.
@Swampthing: Nothing's stopping you from pulling it off the dock and blasting through a bunch of amiibos and putting it back. I'd rather do that from time to time and use my dual sense. A little button remapping at the system level and it's a great time.
