@Nev3rtime: if you don't want to read the manual, I at least recommend you to take a look on the nintendo's survival guides for the game. Its can help a lot with some systems.
@xenoes4: he probably did not have the time to do the affinity mission , the review must had beem rushed so he could at least finish the game before writing about it. 65 hours for this game is nothing.
@troll_elite: i'm okay with the ui and combat system, but for me the western rpgs have the shitty soundtracks. i can't think of one good track of any western rpg i played in my life, but for jrpgs i listen to the game's OSTs constantly. Its a matter of taste and should not be put as a bad point in the game for me. Also i listened to every single track of the XCX OST and liked the majority of them with only a few exceptions. For the crappy plot, i must say THIS IS A GAME, the characters don't need to be human or act like one, they pretty much act like anime characters, and each of the possible party members has its own story, beeing avaiable through affinity missions (one thing i think the reviewer skipped a lot because he rushed to finish the game to write this review, it takes an awnful lot more than 65 hours to complete it with some decent amount of side content). @creepywelps: sorry but what i meant is jrpg as a genre not as a rpg made by japanese devs. I mean, the elements of the game sure are rpg , but it plays more as a western rpg than a jrpg, also it does not have that anime-ish style.(sorry if bad grammar)
@Thanatos2k: unfortunately, i even saw one text which was written "would should go" or something like that :( at least it was from a minor sidequest in the game.
@creepywelps: i guess its up to the player to judge. reviews are experiences other people have and are put online to others read, still 2 9's and 2 8's doens't seem to be bad experiences. at all the game may be repetitive, but only if you want to complete it. And also there is the question : for who this game is designed? If the one playing is not a hardcore jrpg fan they will have a difference experience then non hardcore players and it may be even a shaky or bad experience. Also the game is as big as you want it to be , for a 100% playthrough it IS at least 200 hours (if you know what to do) there are a lot of achievements, places to discover , (MINOR SPOILER) some holographic figures to get of each weapon, item, monsters and even more (there is a sement system which tells you the percentage of everything you've done so far for each continent too).(sorry if bad grammar).
@adsparky: actually the majority of the wii u owners are fans of jrpgs and japanese culture so this game will be well received, sure there are the kids who asked their parents to get a wii u and don't even know what a jrpg is but those are mostly occupied playing call of duty or something.
