Man it sucks that graphics card pricing went up...bad timing man.

Check out the GTS 250 1GB:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133266&cm_re=gts_250_1gb-_-14-133-266-_-Product

For a PS you're going to have to bite the bullet and get something that's going to last and has room for your future upgrades. I'd check out anything 600w or up. Corsair makes an awesome 750w for under $100:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

Both are rock-solid and one of the few best bangs for your buck IMO.

I had this happen to a friend of mine. Make sure the card is well dusted as mentioned above. If it's still a bit too toasty and you're feeling scrappy you might have to take off the fan/heatsink and re-thermal paste it.

I'm sure the Avatar buzz will pass in time. 3D seems to be a gimick that is not going to be long for this world, at the same time uping the amount of seizures.

Boy would I feel like an arse if it catches on....:P

Wow, you opened up a can of worms in here eh?;)

If you're getting a PS3 it would benefit a lot more from 1080p. However, I used to have a 32" and I was also about 10 feet away from it and I still found myself squinting at times to make out all the detail, both because of the size of the set and the tightness of the resolution. Sad to say, at that size it's really not going to matter dude, but with the little price difference between the two now i'd still go with 1080p for bluray's sake, also because more and more games are going to be made in 1080p, so you will want that extra detail as well as draw-distance quality. Maybe just sit a little closer.

Denons and Onkyos are awesome, i have an onkyo myself. In that price range you might be able to get a decent receiver with an HDMI pass-through, but you are still going to need to use optical for your audio. This will allow you to use uncompressed audio as well as HD Master Audio. If you want to be able to run both audio and video through your HDMI then you're definitely going to be spending considerably more that $400. I would get one with at least 2 HDMI inputs and 1 output(so three HDMI in the back), and at least 2 optical inputs.

Check this guy out:http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-RC160-7-2-Channel-Surround-Receiver/dp/B0028AD7BE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266090917&sr=1-1

Should be everything you need. Cheers!:)

Well your graphics chip is sadly one of those dime-a-dozen chips that dell loves to pump into their computers. As seemingly crappy as your chip is I still believe the problem is going to be with your VGA output. Try a VGA to HDMI adapter out the back of your PC then just use an HDMI cable to hook into your plasma. That should work for you allowing higher resolution options to be transfered from your PC to your TV. If that doesn't help i'd say your graphics chip would be the culprit. Good luck!

Buzzing yes, it's too quiet to hear though unless you're listening specifically for it. Burn-in, yep, but most newer plasmas have burn-in protection built in such as pixel shifting and even a scrolling color bar to wipe away any image should you experience such an event.

I love my samsung 50" plasma:D

What video card do you have in that Dell? Get into the system settings and make sure it is a widescreen resolution. Some TVs will default the vid card in the PC to lowest settings, most of your TV setting won't work now that it's functioning as a monitor also. If you have a HDTV connected to a computer via a plain VGA plug odds are that plug isn't going to support the resolution of the TV. Try a VGA-DVI adapter or VGA-HDMI(not sure if they make those).
