After the E3 presentation, I wasn't mad or happy, it was exactly what I expected. The GBA and DS had ports of old games to bring up their libraries (although that plan backfired with the 3DS but moving on) and even sold a lot. Bit the Vita isn't even doing that right. Sony is actually bringing in stripped down CURRENT console ports, and RENAMING THEM. Blackops declassified? That AC3 game with the female? The PSP didn't even do this, heck there were more PSP to PS2 games then the other way around. What the VITA needs is, at least to get a foothold, make games exclusively for itself. Then if they do well port them to the PS3, once the foothold is in, they will be able to get more dev supports like the PSP and pump out tons, and I mean tons of third-party exclusives, and have more of First-party balance with PS3 or 4 and the PSVITA.. They basically just crapped on the way PSP did things, and thought this would work. Why not do the same thing again? Another thing the PSP did, when the portable PSN was open Crash Bandicoot was a lunch download, and it brought interest enough that they spammed more PS1 games and PSP games, and even though GO did not make that much money, the PSP GO brought a lot of online revenue saying that it COULD WORK WITH JUST DIGITAL, but not yet. So why not do that again for the VITA store? Then you can have people going downloading PSone and PSP games, and then you will be able to add more and more, and heck, maybe get near the entire libraries of both available, with user and official reviews to look through. Sony seems to be forgetting what's working, but then again, at the same time, I think they don't believe it would work twice. but they have even done this similar strategy with the XPERIA PLAY PHONE and it worked to some extent. heck, without Crash being handed out free with each phone, the phone would have died just weeks after launch because that's where it was headed. It makes no real sense why Sony is stuck like this. it just seems that they have no idea what to do. The VITA is solid, and could have already did much better than the PSP. but taking downgraded current gen games and renaming them, especially if they look similar to the console games, and if they already have tons of sequels and spin-offs, neither will gain people interest enough to bring in a lot of purchases of the handheld. What are they doing?Another48h0urs

After seeing Sony's conference and the lack of focus on the Vita, I was also letdown so far that I cussed at the computer screen. But I think Sony's still finding a foothold with the Vita; the handheld is still in its early years, and despite its awesome system capabilities and specs, I don't think developers actually want to invest in it too much. Sales are mediocre at best, so I think that puts off a lot of developers to make games for the Vita solely, as they can make multiplatform games for more profit. Then again, I'm not sure, but this will probably improve over the months with the release of big games like littleBig Planet, Call of Duty and sometime later, Monster Hunter (which will surely boost sales in Japan alone). Sure, they are ports, but that's a core reason for people to buy the Vita, or at least that's what Sony thinks. It's safer, and cheaper (?), to bring in the same franchise so that people will be more familiar with it, but most importantly, I think Sony is investing a lot on the cross-play feature. Play on the PS3, continue playing with or on the PSV. That's also why you will see tons of ports, like the upcoming Sly Cooper, which features transfarrable save files and such. It's a neat idea, but I agree on the Vita needing more new IPs. It will come sooner or later, so just be patient =p

Oh, and at least PSone games are already announced for the PSVita! That's a small but good step, and hopefully soon enough, PS2 games will also follow suit :D

I cant get mine to work. Its retarded I never had a problem with any other game now all the sudden it doesnt workAutoPilotOn

You also got NAT 3 stuck on the Vita? I don't understand either why Resistance had to work only on type 2. But if you can at least access multiplayer, then maybe it's the game's problem. I heard that there's an update for that.

I really like this game, it's "fun." That's all that matters to me. I would give it a 7.5 overall.gokuofheaven

Exactly. The game's entertaining, and it's enough to make it worthwhile.

its not my network distributor because i get NAT if i use the wall connection directly on the ps3 but the second i use my router it nat 3 i tried everything i found on this matter from adding ports to dmz and nothing will change my router simply doesnt like sony.

:(

pc-ps360

Oh boy, that's a whole lot more confusing than I thought it'd be...maybe there's a firmware update to solve this in the future? A lot of other people are also getting this problem...in the meantime, it's better to just play online with wifi somewhere else other than from our home network. Same with my router here, or maybe Sony is making it hard for things to like them.

IMO the gameplay its fine, and the two analog sticks work like a charm, better than U:GA IMO.

But the sounds effects of this game sucks HARD, i feel like in a 90's game the sound effects just distract you from the immersion of the game.

It sucks really hard

Pelon208

I definitely agree with the analog sticks. I had to play through half of Uncharted's campaign to finally shoot properly.

I wanted the game to succeed, but, being realistic, there was almost no way the game was gonna turn out great after how bad the game looked a few months ago. In Nihilistic's defense, they cleaned up quite a bit since then. Anyway, hopefully most of the people that bought it are satisfied with their purchase.

Poncho_Hachacha

Yeah, the trailer was unbelievably bad. I didn't even want to get it at first. They really did clean up, cause at least the game's now considerably better than what they promised in the awful trailers.

i tried updating this but still i have nat 3. please help i added the ports but im not sure if im doing it corectly and i updated my router but its not changing. this is very annoying because of really want too try mp on resistance

pc-ps360

Yup, it's really darn annoying; even after updating the firmware and changing ports, I can't get NAT type 2 working. :x I e-mailed the guys at Sony, and they told me to contact my network distributor. Maybe you should try doing that too, cause chances are, they're the ones that block the network from giving us NAT 2. Or just go to a local wifi spot and play! I tried that, and most local spots give you NAT 2. :D

Surely you're not advocating that people lie to help out Sony, Vita, or devs who put out subpar games? Why would anyone do that? Journalistic integrity has decreased enough over the years, don't you think?

Also, what exactly is "the situation"? The fact that there's an incredibly powerful and capable device in the Vita, and that the developers of this game, in the minds of many, put out a subpar product? Is that the situation to which you're referring?

If anyone is to be criticized it's those that put out subpar games. Not those that don't like it. Not those that don't buy it. And certainly not those that won't lie for subpar products.

Sorry, but if you're meaning what I think you're meaning, this is just absurd, IMO.

Nah, I don't mean it that way. Sure, the developers are to blame for subpar games, and I must admit that I'm being unreasonable to criticizing these critics. Everyone's got their own opinion, but it's just amazing how bad critics tend to overwhelm the internet nowadays (IGN, Gamespot right here). I don't mind that, just need to ignore it.

Sorry if I sounded that meant it the way you said it, I guess I'm just panicking about how the Vita will turn out to be. What with the failure of the Go, the lackluster sales and lack of interest, surely there must be a way to fix this? The subpar games and uber-bad reviews aren't helping either. For those who've invested on and bought the Vita already, it's a worry, and a big one at that.

I try to choose words properly, but sometimes they just slip out of hand and give the wrong impression :S, forgive me for that!

shanemcevoy

If it's wi-fi, and you've enabled the device to track your location, then it's fine. The Near application is free anyways.
