@Metallicatease I'd say that, especially with characters like Trevor who seems like he's so unbalanced that he would do just about anything you might want to make him do, they've at least tried to better mesh the story with the options for mayhem outside of the story. Also, the world offers plenty of opportunities for you to just mess around and make your own fun in spectacular ways.
@lex_in_the_moon Satire requires an element of social criticism. I don't feel that GTA V has the necessary critical element for its exaggeration of misogyny to work as criticism of misogyny.
@MostShadyy Gone Home has entirely different goals and ambitions than GTA V, and I felt that it succeeded exceptionally well at achieving what it set out to do. You don't review every game with the same criteria. It doesn't make sense to review, for instance, a Madden game and a Super Mario Bros. game with the same standards.
@archon5567 I'm glad we have both series. They've gone in such different directions and they provide such different experiences. But I personally get more out of the worlds and stories of the GTA games than I do out of the insanity of the Saints Row games.
@Wytsfs By default it is standard GTA style, with a snap-to, lock-on approach. However, you can also switch to an aim assist option or a free aim option. I think with those three options, most players will be able to find something they enjoy.
@Karjah There are side missions that show up on your map like main story missions, that have characters and storylines and unique structures. Then there are ambient events in the world--you go into a store and it's being robbed, for instance, and you can sort of choose to let the criminals get away with it or try to stop them. And then there are the activities like tennis, races, and so on.
