@V3rciS @camyers1310 True. It's just irritating to say the least. I supported it a few months back with a comment and everyone tore into me thinking I was the one who needed look up the definition of casual gamer. Huh.
While a little ridiculous - it makes sense and it WAS in the contract. Enough said. And way to go Sony for keeping it classy and settling this without any more fuss.
Now, for Bridgestone - I don't know if this will go far. It wasn't like Bridgestone was trying to promote their intellectual property with the Michilan Man. Confusion? Sure. But intended thievery? No.
I was 16 smoking cigarettes.... just sayin. I'm not legally able to purchase a handgun..... just sayin.
But, I still found a way to smoke cigarettes and I can go grab a fully automatic AR-15 with extended clips if I want to. It's in my house...... just sayin.
More legislature is NOT the answer. Jesus these idiots in the government are one generation-too-far from reality. Their old world values do not coincide with where society stands today.
We need to focus on parenting skills and awareness. If we treat M games as exactly that, Mature titles... and stop putting a taboo on them like cigs and drugs - maybe kids wouldn't be as interested in trying to get their hands on them. I'm no idiot - it won't solve it then and it won't be solved by this legislature. But, it will be diverted.
I find it so very interesting that comments from previous articles and features about Android becoming a viable platform for mobile/stationary gaming, were very negative and ignorant. People were quick to dismiss ideas of tablets plugging into HDTVs and more powerful, stationary Android consoles.....
But here in THIS comment section - people are supportive, understanding, and open to the idea....
Does all it take is some decent crafted writing and logic to get thru to the idiots or did everyone just flip a switch?
I would WAY rather have a new GTA now on these consoles... where not only other developers have pushed the bar over the last few years, but Rockstar themselves have experience with this hardware. You know how the launch games from 2006 look like shit? Nobody knew how to fully utilize the developer kits. If they waited another year for the consoles they wouldnt be that good. Maybe flashier, but no hardware would be utilized properly.
@ssj2los I agree entirely with this and it's surprising that we haven't moved in this direction. While graphical capabilities are slowing down a bit, cpu processing power is still improving every day.
I never actually get pissed off at the ignorant, uneducated and uninformed idiots that post on here...
But to ANYONE who wants to slam Bethesda for not being able to release DLC for PS3. Please, shut your mouth. Don't bring up other cross platform titles. Don't bring up other DLC from ANY cross platform game. DO NOT bring up ANY OTHER SERIES AT ALL when trying to argue that "OMG ANY PROGRAMMER WORTH HIS SALT COULD FIGURE IT OUT!!!!1!1! OMFGLOLWASRRRRRGH!"
I know we as a country have no critical thinking skills - but tickle my balls for five seconds and do this mind exercise with me.
Every other game you know of (example GTA IV) is now a game of chess. (physically and metaphorically) Anytime you boot that game up, the chessboard gets cleared and reset. Any and all moves that happen in this game, are limited in that only this can happen here and that can happen there. And it's easy for the game to look back and determine what happened, all you gotta do is calculate what pieces have been removed from the board. VIOLA!!! You've just booted back up to your last save game! Now you're playing the GTA IV that you remember!
Now, Skyrim is that game of Mastermind. (You know, the one where you're annoying neighbor kid picks four colored pegs and puts them in slots while you guess over and over and over basing your results on the fact he either shows you a black peg - or a white peg.) The point is to run all the possible combinations of colors you could come up with to match what he has.
Skyrim is Mastermind except with a color pallet of 50 colors, a color coded string of 15 random colored pegs. And you're not limited to 10 guesses. That shit just keeps going over and over and over and over and over and over. VIOLA!!! You've just booted back up to your last save game! Now you're playing the Skyrim [custom character that took 50 hours to complete with an unsaid number of random quests that MAY or MAY NOT have been discovered, completed, or branched off from] that you remember!
It's not easy to code all the possible combinations of what can happen on your game save. The size and scope of the game and it's ambitious attempt to recreate a livable world - becomes VERY difficult to program and code for. When you make a game of this size and then have to port it over to another console; and that console has very difficult architecture to begin with... you end up with buggy DLC that is better left locked away than release for a quick buck.
Keep it classy, Bethesda. Keep up the hard work. Hopefully, one day PS3 users will get the opportunity to enjoy the DLC they never payed a dime for. If not, I urge them to make a change to a PC by the end of this generation...
@JBStone1981 @Simplythebest12 @02050muh Nobody else has attempted to port a game of Skyrim's size and complexity. Fucking people think that the world should just 'work.' Go to school and tell me programming is easy. You probably couldn't figure out what the C:/ drive is or what sys32 means.
