Seems Microsoft are relying on very cheap, forgettable gimmicks as a way to reel in customers. Gestures with the hands is a step backwards, as a controller is the touch of a button...
@therage416 @bubbalooga Surely we cannot be the only ones who feel this way. I wouldn't mind a hyper futuristic shooter, something that will eliminate the famous 'first to hold trigger/left click wins'. Complexity of counter strike mixed with unreal tournament based on futuristic warfare.
Of course they're suffering, the gears of war series has been running for what 7-8 years on the same console on the same hardware. It was finished before gears of war 2 came out. The problem is simple, stupidity prevails when it comes to creating sequels and prequels. Take call of duty and assassins creed for example. The last title in the AC series that was actually worthy of gamers cash was the second. As far as cod goes, the improvements on modern warfare have been slack because the target audience for that series is anything between 10 and 18, which is the easiest age bracket to please. What happened to game companies bringing and IP's? Now a days we see more remakes than new projects which is sad. Bungie has taken a step in the right direction, so has Quantic Dream. I just hope the rest of the big names like ubisoft, square enix and treyarch can do the same.
I don't know about the rest of the intellectuals that lurk, but I for one need a change.
