I canceled my preorder of Rayman due to NO information about it. It was a game I always wanted to try on the Dreamcast/N64 but was never able to. Although it may be a very cool title, its a 10+ year old game with some added "3D". I'm not willing to drop $40 on a game that has virtually no hype or information available. I'm still interested, but I think I'll wait until after launch to see what the impressions are.
I've seen this happen with two things. Bad motherboard , or a bad power supply. Another route to try would be to remove your components and try to boot with the bare minimum. Start adding components back in one at a time until you can reproduce the issue. But, as stated in the previous post....try a BIOS update first. It'd be nice to get lucky and have that fix it.
Very solid build. Dont listen to the guys giving you crap about the CPU. Although I'm currently using a i7 920 , I still love to support AMD. The Phenom II X6 is a heck of a CPU for the price. Even if the SB is going to be a bit better, in real world usage you will be completely satisfied with your choice. It should last you many years. Enjoy it.
How much of your RAM is in used? Any serious paging going on? As one stated above, it could easily be some indexing going on too. How long has it been sitting at 100%? Do you let it go for days like this?
One more thing to add, have you let Windows Update finish? IF the answer is yes to that question, try turning off automatic updates and restart. Let us know what you are seeing then.
Yes it will damage your computer. I've worked on computers for many years, and when you open a smokers computer it is absolutley disgusting. I have seen it destroy computers because it builds up some thick nasty crud, usually causing cooling issues.
Here's a good example of an ordinary computer I'd see. It cakes on a dark brown film and the dust just clumps together. Aside from the fan, it coats just about every part of the board/components.
Aside from nothing being out of the ordinary, go back in there and tell us whats using 100% CPU. Something IS using it. Double click on the CPU column and sort by highest to lowest so you can see it easier.
If you are on a budget, I'd say stick with a X4. The X6 is a great processor for my needs, but thats on my VMWare box. I NEED the cores. Get yourself a decent quad core and put your extra dollars in the GPU.
You should be able to take the video into just about any video editing program, even an easy free one like Windows Movie Maker.
Just import it, edit if you'd like, and then export it/save it as a web video.
Go play another one of the 3000 FPS titles that have been released this gen. You'll get your fill of it somewhere :P
Go blow $60 on Marvel VS Capcom 3. Game is amazing! 2D fighter at its finest. And its something very different....its not a FPS.
