I've been having the weirdest problem with my computer that I have built. It just recently started to freeze up no matter what i would be doing, wether it be playing a game, surfing the web, or just leaving it on doing nothing. When it freezes it will just sit for awhile and then after 4 or 5 mins it will restart, power does not go off or anything. However when i try to get into the BIOS the computer shuts down for a couple of seconds then turns back on. I just want to make sure that its the motherboard that is bad before i go out and spend the money to replace it. What do you guys think?

Specs

AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz

6 gigs of kingston ddr3 ram

500 gig WD HDD

Nvidia gt220

windows 7

Asus M4A77TD

ive tried looking this up multiple times but i havent been able to get a good answer.

My biggest concern is that if i buy a pcie2x16 graphics card would it be able to fit into a pciex16 slot? My mother board is starting to show age but i dont want to replace it and you can find pcie2x16 graphics cards that have more memory and is ddr3 for half the price of a pciex16 card with ddr2.

[QUOTE="gregbmil"]I have a ps3 slim :|

gregbmil

You don't have a slim, because the slims don't yellow light. Either that or your the very first one!!

Please GTFO off our board and go troll elsewhere.

But you failed to mention that the problems you had with your PS3 was with the Phat. Then you say "I have a Slim:|". You made it sound like it was your Slim was giving you the problems, which you got after you Phat kept breaking. He told me this in a private message!! So no your the one that got OWNED!!! Because I'm right and your wrong, there are no PS3 Slim problems, unlike the 360 Slim

Theres no games for the ps3...lol

That was the old system or whatever. There is a different one now. Not sure which one, but one of them is Jasper, and the other something else. The Xbox 360 does not fail as much anymore. Actually, it has the same failure rate as the PS 3, which is pretty good.

I know, currently, that the 360 doesn't fail as much at it use to. However, the 360's failure rate was, or may still be, at 54.5%. In September of this year, it's failure rate was approx 23.7% and the PS3 was approx 10%. So I don't think that they're the same friend.

is the percentage out of all the PS3's sold? because there have been less PS3s sold so the statistics would be off

Im looking at 2 laptops and there is a $150 difference and they are both practically the same except the CPU L2 caches. The cheaper one has a 1 meg CPU L2 cache and the more expensive one has a 2 meg CPU L2 cache. So i was wondering if it would be worth the extra $150 dollars to get a better CPU.
