So it seems like Namco-Bandai is going down the F2P route. What's next? A F2P Tales MMORPG?

@charlieboomboom The Riddick games have been the few games considered to be exceptions to the rule of movie games that suck. Butcher Bay was critically acclaimed when it came out. If I am not mistaken, Assault on Dark Athena had positive reviews, but no a s high as Butcher Bay. It also came with an enhanced remake of Butcher Bay using Dark Athena's mechanics. I beat Butcher Bay twice. Play it sometime.

@Redsyrup I can see it now: COB: Modern Whorefare by Infinity Ward and COB: Black Cocks by Treyarch.

I'm probably the only one more concerned that her codename (I assume) is Quiet than with her outfit. There have been supposedly "sexy females" in prior MGS games.

@HornedKing Didn't she always sound like that? I don't recall her voice actor being switched. I love her voice. A little bass in woman's voice isn't a bad thing.

Not seeing why this a big deal. There are depictions (implied or shown) of men and women being sexually assaulted in movies, T.V. shows and books. Now I ask, why is it a big deal because a scene of sexual assault (implied or shown) a problem for a video game exploring darker and mature themes?

Is it an issue of morals? Mass murdering is a big thing in video games. You have the hero and his allies going around killing scores of bad guys. Were it not for their label as heroes and the label of the victims as bad guys, the heroes would be mass murderers. But I guess the question is this: Is it morally justifiable to kill those who are evil and have the intent to kill you? Do these people have it coming to them because they are a part of some nefarious organization or should they be put on trail to atone for the crimes? It seems like the general consensus is to not bat an eyelash at the killings. Killing innocents is most certainly unacceptable in video games. No dispute there. Remember No Russian from MW2? Yeah.

Now on to rape or sexual assault in a work of fiction. Usually the victim is some innocent unsuspecting individual. It's usually a female. You don't see much males getting raped unless its in a prison. I assume the woman is about to be raped in HM2 is some innocent unsuspecting victim. Once again I ask, if it is depicted in other forms of media, why is it a problem for video games?

Now what if this rape victim was one of the bad guys. You know, the type that are the cannon fodder for heroes in any video game genre that involves killing. In other words, this rape victim is evil. Would that make the depiction of rape scene in HM2 acceptable? Furthermore, If they don't deserve to get raped, why to do they deserve to get gunned down, sliced up, obliterated, or [insert gruesome form of killing here]?

As a closing remark: Heroes don't rape their victims. That's terrible. They kill them. That's much better. Wait...what?

TL DR version: Two questions are being asked: Why is the depiction of sexual assault unacceptable in video games when it is shown in other forms of media? Also, if the rape victim is a evil (regardless of gender), would it become acceptable? If the answer is no, why would killing them be better?

@Heshertonfist Out of curiosity, how do you feel about the depiction of sexual assault in other forms of media? Surely you have a reason for singling out video games as a form of media that must not delve include rape/sexual assault.
